We used very similar wording.  For ours, I put my (married) parents as:  John & Jane Doe

and FI’s (divorced) parents as:  John Doe and Jane Smith(on the same line; there was just too much information we needed to include to have them on separate lines)

It’s definitely not necessary to put your FI’s mom’s husband on the invite because he’s not technically his father.  I can see some people maybe wanting to do this if they’re close with a step parent, but it’s definitely not needed.

bonbonsparklesMD:  Julie’s advice is better than mine with the two lines, but we put FI’s both on one line because of the space issue (like you’re running into).  I would list them as you mentioned: Mrs. first last name and  Mr.first last name .

I know we did it “wrong” but I’m not really caring so much since they’ve already been ordered (and sent!).  Kinda wished I had known about that website before, though…haha.

bonbonsparklesMD:  Interesting.  And agreed:  when mocking up our invites I thought having them on separate lines kind of singled them out.
