Mine likes to go cycling and sometimes we go together.  One day, we were looking for sunglasses and he gave me this really long and detailed lecture about different specs for sunglasses and how you had to have such and such for things... it was nerdy/cute.  Wink

So, as my gift to him, I'm ordering a custom pair of Oakley sport sunglasses.

I'm getting my groom this gift: http://www.christianbook.com/an-enchanting-evening-game/pd/82001?event=BB&bookbag=1&item_code=WW

We may not play it immediately, but I'm sure we'll get to use it in the future.

I'm also probably going to write him a letter telling him how much I love him and how blessed I am to have him in my life.

My FI had the ugliest red 1998 Pontiac Trans Am from the time he was 18, and he kept it as his it-is-going-to-be-a-classic-someday car. He was driving it about four months ago and got run off the road by a drunk driver and the car was totaled. He is devastated about it.

Since we have tons of pictures of it and I know a portrait artist, she is making up a collage painting of different angles of the car for him to put up in his office.

@futuremrsreed - that is totally sweet!

I wasn't planning on doing a groom's gift... no idea what I would get him. It's hard enough buying him bday/Christmas presents, haha.

    Thank you!

I really think that when it comes to groom's gifts, they should be personal. The perfect gift is going to be different for each one. Shopping for guys is awful. They tend to buy whatever they want whenever they feel like it.

Other gift ideas I have heard of that I thought were sweet included a new PS3 for a friend whose hubby is a gamer, a set of nice kitchen knives for one who liked to cook (the lucky girl), an antique pocketwatch for one who collects them, a conplete Clint Eastwood DVD collection for the ultimate fan, a beer stein purchased especially during a business trip to Germany for the beer fan, a subscription to the wine-of-the-month club for the wannabe oenologist, and one gal bought her aquarium-loving hubby the dog-faced puffer fish he had always wanted and had the pet store keep it until the tank was ready for it. She took a picture and framed it and gave him the picture with a little "gift certificate" she had made up. Boudoir pics are also a perennial favorite.

I really want to do a boudoir, but I don't know of any photogs around here that could do it for me, so instead I'll probably "borrow" Toaster's idea and write a letter telling him how much he means to me.

We're not giving gifts to each other.  I did help his mom pick out what I would have gotten him... mickey mouse cufflinks :)

i'm going the ps3 route, IF i can find one.  seriously, i had no idea they were still so hard to get, i thought it was going to be an easy thing by this point.  so that is my issue, but if i can find one, i know he will love it.

i had a friend get her husband an ipod touch with their wedding date inscribed on it.  and another friend gifted him a booklet of his "perfect day" - a step by step of a special date she planned, based on what she knew he would love.  i always think a watch is also a good idea.

I am giving him boudoir photos as well as cufflinks. The cufflinks will be the ones that you can put in pictures. One will be a photo of his mom, who passed away when he was 18. In the other, a photo of his grandpa who raised him. He passed away last year.

I am getting my groom some awesome Binoculars since we are taking an Alaskan cruise for our honeymoon and they will probably come in handy! Then afterward they can be used for hunting!
