Hi bees! This is an idea i was thinking of. My FI’s sister is very important to him and she will be a bridesmaid in our wedding. However, i was thinking of making her the “Grooms MOH” and giving her maybe a sash or cute brooch on her dress to make her a little different from the other bridesmaids. I already have a Maid/Matron of Honor and she will be in a different color from the other girls. What do yall think about a grooms MOH?? And in turn my best male friend is a groomsman in our wedding. But i thought of making him the “brides best man”. He would walk with the “grooms moh” and maybe get a different pattern on his tie while still looking like a groomsman. My Fiance does have a best man and he will coordinate with my moh. What do yall think?? Has anyone ever done this before?? Thanks!

@bugswifey13: I’m not having any BMs or GMs. I have a guy best friend and a girl best friend. I’m making them both my Maid/Matron of Honor. lol. And to even it out, my Fiance is making his girl cousin “best woman” and his guy friend bestman. I love the idea and I have my two closes friend honored in my wedding right besides me.

@bugswifey13: I actually love this idea! It shows how the sister is important to both of you. Personally I’m not a fan of the sash idea..I just keep picturing Miss America. Maybe do both Maid/Matron of Honor bouqets different? A best man wouldn’t usually have anything different on their outfit anyways

@Spade504: I agree on the stash. Different color bouqet sounds cute.

We had my two sisters and my brother (“bridesman”) stand on my side at our wedding, and Darling Husband (who is an only child) had 2 guy friends and 1 female friend (“groomsmaid”) on his side. We were going to have the ladies on my side and the guys on his, but for various logistical reasons (some of them needed to get up to the lectern to do readings, sing the Psalm, etc.) and because of the colors they chose, we did it that way. (We asked everyone to wear a green dress/black suit with green tie of their choosing. It so happened that my siblings all chose fairly bright greens and his friends all ended up with darker, muted greens, so it looked good to arrange everyone that way.)
