I have 8 days to go with our wedding and we've had a rough past month. Our wedding planning was on halt for 2 weeks because my mom had gone in to brain surgery. With her recovery going well, we decided to keep the wedding with the original date. However, now we didn't have a photographer, dj, florist, or cake baker, along with other little things like rings, honeymoon.. etc.

Well I've been blessed to have a wonderful future husband who is helping me out so much. He's booked the photographer, dj, cake baker, rings, and honeymoon. He's helping me with EVERYTHING right now. Especially considering I have to work 12 hour days to gather up hours to go on our honeymoon. Its just amazing how things are being pulled together, and I am not doing a lot of it. I'm one of those people that like to do things on their own because I don't trust that others will do what I expect. But boy was I wrong, giving up things to work on was such a relief. And by now I realized that I have to trust that my future husband will do a good job, maybe not all the details I expect but good enough. :)

Is anyone else have the same problem of giving up work because of trust/expectation issues? Anyone else blessed with a groom helping out as much as he can?

I have always been the type of person that believes "if you want it done right, you have to do it yourself".  When our wedding planning began, I had just started a new job with an hour long commute each way.  I was working long days to build up vacation time and I was so stressed with work.  My FH really stepped up to help out with the wedding plans (some of them at least).  He did a lot of research on photographers, DJs and honeymoon hotels and made a top 3 list of each.  He gave me the top 3 and we discussed them together and decided on one.  It was great because he did a lot of the work but I still felt like I had some input.

It was really hard for me to hand over control, but I'm glad I did it!

My husband was great during the planning process.  He always said if you need help let me know, if you need me there let me know (and they weren't empty promises).  He came to all vendor visits, and looked at my polyvore designs, and would help me choose between items when I couldn't do it.  He was great!  I was very lucky and so are you!!
