He's helped a lot. He actually found our venue (a hotel) by doing lots of research during the day (he's unemployed). He's also done a lot of calling with questions to the hotel, dj, etc...
Unfortunately, FI has not been as active as I would like him to be. I put him in charge of the suchi cheff and the DJ, but I just went ahead and started getting bids for the sushi. I've been pushing him about the dj; he has one lead so far. I guess he's better when I give him options and he helps me choose. He has came with me to all my vendor appointments though so, not so bad.
I put him in charge of:
1. Picking fun songs to have the DJ play at reception
2. Getting measured for tux (wow -thats hard LOL)
3. Putting together HIS guest list for the wedding (friends ect.. with addresses)
4. Picking out and getting the Groomsman's thank you gifts
Thats pretty much it. He was and still is in school and has little free time. So I thought that was fair since he wouldn't have time to take on much else.
- Booking the band and communicating song choices to them
- Communicating with the groomsmen about attire, duties, timing, lodging, etc.
- Booking the transportation (buses) to and from our venue
- Booking our accommodations the night of the wedding
- Hiring the videographer
- Dealing with his parents!
He's finding us somewhere to live, picking the groomsmen/his tuxes, getting his cake made, and picking most of the songs for the reception. He's helping out with some other thngs, but these are strictly his. :)

I feel bad that he doens't have a lot of "duties", but he's a honey-do-whatever-you-want type of guy, so it works... because I have been a control freak since childhood.
I do value his input when he gives it though because I know he wouldn't say anything if he didn't really mean it!
You've all given me some good ideas that I can put him in charge of.
