So we got a phone call about 5 days ago from GM no 2 to say he had to pull out! As of today we have 48 days to the wedding. We are pretty devistated especially as he was there at the start of it all, he was the reason we met.
FI doesnt have anyone close enough to ask at this late date so it leaves a 2GM 3 BM sitch.
Has anyone else had this? What did you do?

@batamont: uneven sides is totally fine! One guy will walk 2 girls!

Uneven sides is fine! At least your groomsman gave you notice! I haven’t heard from one of my bridesmaids for at least a month now, so I’ve got no idea whether or not they’re coming!

We had one BM and 2 GM’s and it was all fine 🙂

Bummer. Luckily it’s not the end of the world. Lots of people have uneven numbers and they dont’ play a very active role in the wedding anyway.

I was in a wedding where there was one less BM than GM. I had to walk down the aisle (and enter into the reception) escorted by two guys. This looked and felt very awkward, and we barely fit down the aisle. Instead of having the GMs escort BMs, I suggest you have them walk alone down the aisle… either BM GM BM GM BM or GM GM BM BM BM.

That stinks! Maybe the maid of honor could walk by herself?

This happened to us, although 8 months out. One of my BMs put in her time off request and her work denied it. :

I’m worried this will happen to us, but instead of 2 and 2 we already have just 1 BM and 2 GM. I was woried at first that it was going to be weird, but oh well. Having the part of GM & BM is supposed to be a special thing and that they are close to the bride and groom, not just some random friend picked out of no where. 😛 Don’t stress! It’ll be okay! 🙂
