I'm a little confused and can use some clarification.  I have three women standing with me (MOH and 2 BMs) and my fiance also has three (BM and 2 GMs).  But the other friends he isn't able to ask to be groomsmen he is going to ask to be Ushers.  And there are 3-4 of them.

So are the ushers now technically considered part of the wedding party?!  Is this correct?  My concern is, are they to be included in the wedding party photos?  If so, I just think it will look odd with 4 women and 7-8 men.  I don't know.  Am I concerned over nothing?

I don't think the ushers are considered part of the wedding party unless you want. I think most people assign ushers to give someone who didn't make the wedding party cut a special part in your day. Again, whether or not you include them in photos I think is up to you.

I don't consider them part of the wedding party.  I don't even know who our ushers are going to be, which shows how much thought I've put into it ;o)

I agree with Miss HotSauce -- I dont think that they are included in the wedding party but its up to you if you would like them to be in your wedding photos.  Then again I am one of those people who is about setting my own traditions/requirements for our wedding...I'm not one to just do cookie cutter things (ie I have a blue petticoat, 2 MOH, and Im not using live floral (but clay ones) for my bouquet)...mom is a bit confused about it not being a "traditional" wedding but hey its something new and different right?!
