- Wedding: June 2012
My FH and I chose an outdoor setting for our wedding in late June. We initially wanted something casual yet elegant because the reception will be held on grass and were looking at options for the groomsmen to wear tuxedoes with vests and no jacket, but we didn’t really find any options that worked. I have since printed our invitations and dictated semi-formal attire for our wedding (we didn’t want anyone to show up in jeans and the dress i ended up falling in love with is more on the formal side), but now my fiance recently found a very affordable option for the groomsmen for a tux without the jacket.
We love the look of the groomsmen in vests, but I’m concerned about two things:
1) Since I’ve already printed the invitations, I’m not sure a tux without a jacket would still be considered semi-formal.
2) In Southern Cali, June’s weather is unpredictable. We have the “June Gloom”. It might still be cool in the evenings so if the guys didn’t rent jackets, they would have to bring an unmatching one to stay warm at the end of the night since it is outdoors.
What do you bees think?
