I am getting married in July and my Fiance is a firefighter. He is going to be wearing his dress blues for the ceremony and then changing so he can party at the reception. I am going for a casual rustic type wedding. I was thinking of having the groomsmen wear boots, dark navy jeans and a yellow western shirt (my colors are navy and yellow) I was wondering if y’all thought that with the G in his dress blues if the groomsmen would look out of place. To make matters worse all my bridesmaids want long dresses (for various reasons that I would like to honor) I want it to look nice, but I also ,know my G will change into jeans for the reception. Any advice/thougths?

I think that the Groomsmen will look out of place with them in jeans and your FH in Dress uniform then your Bridesmaid or Best Man in long dresses. You could still have the middle ground if you put the Groomsmen in dark blue dress slacks, white shirts, dark blue ties, and then pop the yellow with a simple boutonnière and maybe some fun yellow shoes or socks.

I also agree that the groomsmen will look a little out of place with the jeans. Our groomsmen work khakis and a fishing shirt since we wanted something a little laid back as well. Maybe your guys can do that too?!? (my girls wore sun dresses)

Having the bridesmaids wear long dresses and the groom in dress blues leans away from casual rustic. I think it would be too much contrast for the groomsmen to wear jeans and a yellow western shirt.
If they wear dark dress jeans, shirt and tie with a vest, you could straddle the line. As a pp has said you could bring in the yellow with a bout or their tie.
