We used Menswearhouse.  They were fine.  I think their Vera wang tux.  They messed up one of the groomsmen’s rentals (his coat was too short), but my husband looked  fabulous, and that what matters most.  We choose them because we had groomsmen from all over and it was easier for them to get measured at a location near them.  I’ve heard that local places are cheaper.  I looked into one and it was more expensive.  I think tux rentals are just expensive.  Look out for Mens Wearhouse coupons- they come out often (we had one for 40 off each tux rental).  They also will give you a free tux rental or a free suit after the wedding for each 5 you rent.  My husband got the suit, which worked out great because he really needed one anyways.

How much are MW tuxedo rentals?  There is very little pricing info on the website.

We also went to MW and got the Vera tuxes in grey. I think they were around $140 each plus the pocket squares, etc.

My fmil and my fsil said that men warehouse wasnt great because the sizing of their tuxes and suits are odd. My ffil had a wedding to go to and when he got fitted at men warehouse his sleeves were so long on him and since the wedding was out of town he couldn’t do anything about it. Idk where you live but if you live in upstate ny message me I will give you a name of a good tux rental place. we got our rentals at a local shops. Rental places even at Men warehouse are expensive its about $150 per person depending on which tux you decide to go with. Keep in mind if you buy a tux they are more expensive.

We did Men’s Wearhouse as well, but I’ll be honest, it wasn’t the best experience in the world.  They’re just so so, but everyone was dressed and looked great on the day of, so that’s all that mattered to me.  Have you tried JosA Bank?  That’s the other one I had been thinking of trying.

My daughter just used Men’s Wharehouse, because the groomsmen were spread across 2 states, with the closest one to where we live 4.5 hours away. My other SIL always rents his tuxes from a local, small town, men’s clothing shop. I think they’re only 59 and up. The tuxedo section of your yellow pages may help you find shops like this.

Joseph A. Banks does a 70 or 75 percent discount for weddings.  (At least that’s what they said when we went in person).  I would guess it’d still be more expensive than Men’s Wearhouse, but it might also depend on what you pick.

vicetyvic@hotmail.com:  Is your wedding formal (i.e., you need tuxedos vs. suits)? There are awesome sales right now at places like Macy’s and JCPenney on suits. We had a less formal affair and wanted just vests and pant sets for our GM. With sales, many of them were able to buy their outfits for less than $100. It would have been $150+ to RENT a comparable set at MW.

whitemochi622:  I’ve been trying to convince FI to go this route. We went to MW and weren’t super impressed with the selection. The cheaper tuxes were, well…cheap. and the nicer tuxes were more than what it would cost to just have all the guys buy an ok-quality suit from the mall. Plus, the only color MW had that matched our BM dresses was in this awful floral/paisley pattern that FI hated. Just thinking about groomsmen attire stresses me out because I feel guilty asking my dad & brother (and all 6 groomsmen!) to drop that kind of dough for a one-day event.

amanda.417:  I felt the same! I felt better about asking them to pay for something they would actually keep (vs rent and return). The suit from JCP was actually really good quality (100% wool). Even though we only asked for vest and pants, a couple guys bought the jacket as well on their own!
