So Bees! I am trying to grow out my hair after years of short hair (I'm obsessed...I buzzed my head once and would do it again in a heart beat) but now I REALLY want long hair just to see how it would look. It is taking forever!! I get trims regularly and take Biotin but do you guys have other tricks?

Any Oils I can purchahse or ANYTHING that will help in my cause? My FI keeps telling me to cut it and I don't want to give in.

    Thanks!

Multivitamin.. and I use stuff called Moraccan oil. Its FABOULAS. It helps growth and will help repair damage that was done.

I've been using Mane N Tails shampoo and Aussie 3 minute miracle conditioner, Prenatals and morrocan oil. I feel my hair is much shinier and softer but since I didn't measure it when I first started I'm not sure how much it's grown though I'm sure it has!

I've got no other tips that haven't been said by PP's but I just wanted to commiserate. I've had a pixie cut for years and decided to grow it back out to shoulder-ish length. I'm about halfway there (just having trouble growing out the ear cutouts/sideburns, those are THE WORST) and I'm ready to throw in the towel. I want my pixie cut back, but I know I'd be devastated if I cut my hair back off at this point after all this work halfway growing it out. I'll grow it out to the length I want and live with it for a while and see how I feel then.

What's your goal length/how far do you have to go? I have about 3" to go, doesn't seem like much but it's taking forevvvvver :(

@Kant: I feel the EXACT same way! Just want to throw in the towel. It is taking me FOREVER too. I cut my hair a couple times along the way to right above my shoulder because I was getting annoyed. I hear ya on the sideburns being the hardest to grow back. I sometimes feel like I have a mullet and wanna buzz it again lol!

But right now I have been a good girl and it is layered and 3" past my shoulder...I want it LONG

    wishful thinking?

And thanks guys I am DEF gonna try morrocan oil and the shampoo.

I use Morrocan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner. It helps keep it healthy while I'm growing it. I had chin length hair when I met my FI and it's now down to my bra band. I started growing it 2 years ago, had a bunch of trips to keep it healthy.

I am also growing out a very short pixie-ish cute. After a bad "trim" (it looked funny growing out, all different lengths, so she "evened it out" ICK) I caved and made an appointment for hair extensions. I can't tolerate this "in-between" stage and I really don't want to cut it all off again. But, the way it is now, those are my two options- cut it or extensions- because this is awful.

Try some of these tricks! I've also heard that trimming your hair frequently is just a myth. Also, I've heard taking prenatal vitamins really helps your hair grow and makes it shinier!

I'm using Mane & Tail too!  Im also using this aussie split ends repair cream.  My hair is definitely starting to look more healthy.  I did take a before picture. But I am going to wait a few months before trying to compare it to anything.  I want to have time to get a trim in there somewhere. Oh, I have also been taking biotin (vitamin)  which is suppose to help your hair, nails and skin.

I'm a hairstylist and i remembered in school they always told us that when you massage your head more it opens up ur pores to grow make your hair grow a little bit faster. an also use a shampoo like tea tree or something that is stimulatiing to your scalp, that will also help. But remember on average your hair only grows 1/2 inch a month

@shannonh32:  Is trimming your hair a myth? Yes and no. It will not make your hair grow faster, however it will help prevent breakage from split and ratty ends so it will help preserve hair length, if that makes sense.
