Ok I ordered his ring from blue nile, which i love, but im a liitle grumpy because FedEx left it on the doorstep and didnt even knock. Not a huge deal because someone was there to find it, but anyone could have just walked off with his Platinum band. Ok, i vented and feel better sorry

Yes – – – I would vent about that too…Did you request for “sign on delivery?”
At any rate – – I am glad that it was there waiting for you

Haha…that’s bad! Glad it turned out ok.
I laugh cuz I always have the opposite problem with fedex…they will NEVER leave anything, whether or not it needs a signature. My secured apartment building which only has about 12 apts apparently is not deemed a safe place to leave packages so they won’t leave them at my door (yet a completely unsecured house porch IS safe…I actually had this arguement with them). So I always have to pick things up…which requires me to take time off work to fit in their office hours. And they won’t let my husband pick things up for me (he’s a grad student so much more flexible hours) because his last name isn’t the same as mine…even if I sign a note giving permission for him to pick up the package. That alone makes me want to change my name! 🙂

Don’t sweat it! If they said they delivered it but it’s not there, call and file a claim and get a new one. To be honest, we’ve claimed a “stolen” package before and got new goods no questions ask just to teach our regular route guy to hide our packages better.

My Engagement Ring came fed-ex and my Fiance wasn’t home. He had to make a special trip to the Fed-ex place to pick it up.

FedEx and UPS do that to me all the time. I live in a large NYC apartment building. There are 30 apartments, why would you leave my package on the doorstep, there are way too many opportunities to have someone else just pick it up and go. I always wonder who is then responsible, the delivery company or the company you ordered from. It seems it would be the delivery company but who knows.
