i think thats the worst thing about registering! everyone said register right away! don't wait till the last minute! register as early as possible!
but then you're stuck in this situation. did you go online and just add things? or take a trip back to BBB asap to add things they have in the store? I think you should do that right away!
I'm a little frustrated with BB&B too! I also hate how you can't tell if they have it in store or not because I don't have a BB&B in my town. I just registered there b/c I know a lot of the guests have one in their home town. For the things that went on clearance I just added a similar duplicate just to be safe, which is a pain in the booty :(
am going to store tomorrow to comb over registry and find comparable items in store so guests who are not able to order online can purchase without hassle.. just super annoying. AND not all stores carry luggage and the i-lite lugge I want is not on clearance... grr
Retail has 6 seasons, so they are constantly changing out items...I'd recommend not filling your registry until right before you send out your invites, because all the seasonal items go on sale, then on clearance, then are discontinued. So you end up having only half of a set or whatever. I ended up buying three or four things off my own registry because I saw them go on clearance and I wanted to grab them before they became unavailable!
I think I may have to do that with the luggage.. I really loved how light they were
Everyone warned me about this, but I didn't listen...then of course my heart broke when the Pottery Barn bedding I fell in LOVE with sold out =( To be honest, I'm still glad we registered early because I've had tons of time to finagle it and make little changes, but we did have to be flexible and recognize we might be disappointed and replace a couple of things if they get discontinued.
That is definitely why I have waited to register still...well that and I am a procrastinator!
I wish registering sounded like more fun!

why is it that I registered for stuff in January and some of the stuff I registered for at Bed Bath and Beyond is now on clearance.. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and there is no way to tell if I register for something online if they have it in the store (at least target has a "find it in store" button. I know my shower invites went out today soo now I have to go back to BBB and add some other stuff and remove stuff that is now on clearance for fear they wont have it anymore. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
