Maybe they don’t like the taste of the envelope glue. I don’t know why people do this either… I know some people (like me) can be a bit forgetful, but some bees get so many people they have to chase down it’s ridiculous! You can’t tell me every single one of those RSVPs have memory problems. I hope you have a bit until your RSVP date is up. I’m hoping when we send our invites we won’t have to call a ton of people. Best of luck!

Eeek that’s a lot of people! I hope they flow in over the next few days. Maybe you have a few stragglers due to a delay in mail from Easter (a little far fetched, but maybe?)? I’ve seen a lot of other bees that had a few come in within a day or two past the deadline too.

What really annoys me are the people who aren’t planning on coming not sending in their RSVPs.

“Yes – I get that you have been bitching to my mom for the past few months how inconvenient it would be to leave your town to come to my wedding, and I am fine with that.  But you are family, it would have seemed rude to NOT invite you.  And, ya know, common sense would dictate that you still send back the addresses, STAMPED envelope so I don’t have to carve yet more time out of my day to track you down.  Oh, and by the way, buying a crap ton of stamps is not cheap…..we did not put those suckers on the RSVP envelops just for decorations!!”l

Sometimes I wish I would just let my inner bitch out to play…..

@Rock Hugger:  I think a lot of people assume they only have to RSVP if they are going for some reason. Some people in my FI’s family take the opposite approach. There are a few people that are certain to RSVP as a yes and then not show. They do this for EVERY event. It’s amazing how people think sometimes…

My RSVP date was April 1…still missing a few. We contacted the people we care about and are considering the other people no’s.

Hehe, thanks for the laugh, GeekChic!

I got an email from my FMIL this evening. Apparently FFIL’s boss managed to call them and let them know that he and his wife will be able to make it. Never mind that the stamped RSVP card had a deadline of April 1st and was only for him, no +1. SIGH. At least FFIL is super happy with this.

I did get another super late RSVP, but this one had a handwritten note that filled the entire back apologising for taking so long – the invite had been lost under a stack of bills. That makes it forgivable.

One thing’s for sure: I am going to be super speedy with RSVPs (where I have to respond) in the future. These people must just be unaware of how much stress (and outright anger) they cause!

Our RSVP date is May 3 and I’m already antsy.  What’s concerning me more is that my shower RSVP deadline is April 15th (going to my MOH, not to me of course) and so far a LOT of my friends haven’t responded!  It’s making me worry that 1) no one wants to come, and 2) those people will RSVP no to the wedding!  AHhhhhhhHHHhH I feel unpopular & stressed, haha.

I had none yesterday, which would be okay except I haven’t gotten any back from the Canadian relatives! So every day I open the mailbox terrified to find a stack of returned-to-sender invitations with insufficient postage. I weighed them and they’re all under an ounce … so I put what I thought was appropriate postage on them for international mail … WHERE ART THOU, CANADIAN RSVPs?!?! Maybe I’ll have better luck today!
