we have twizzlers, chocolate covered cherries, hershey kisses, m &m's, old fashioned after dinner mints, hershey bars, kit kat bars, lindt truffles, a mix of mini marshmellows and chocolate chips, dried cranberries, milano cookies, fire balls, red hots, i'm sure i'm forgetting some.
We bought stuff from bj's, target, costco, stop and shop, and cvs.
This is crazy but after v-day, I bought tons of bags of m& m's and made my sisters help me sort out the purple and pink ones, so i'd have just red and white left. Took a while but totally worth it since we had my colors, got the bags on clearence and didn't have to pay really high prices for custom colors. They are still fresh and taste great. Just store your candy in a zip lock bag the ones with the slider tops and it will keep and be fresh.
We also bought the kisses on clearance, we got the rasberry and the cherry ones so the wrappers are red and black.
Everything keeps very well as long as bag is air tight, so it was very helpful to be able to buy some of it so cheap and so far in advance, so just keep that in mind.

FMIL told us the other day that she'd shop and pay for the rest of the candy for the candy buffet we are doing. I couldn't believe it! She drives me nuts most of the time, but sometimes she does something very unexpected which is really cool.
So anyway FI and I made a list and she was able to purchase almost everything. We are talking 100's of dollars of candy I can't wait to go home and start setting it all up to see what it looks like! She said whatever she couldn't get she'll pick up tomorrow so there is still more to come!
P.S. I'm using candy as a favor for everyone and also a decoration so it was included in our initial budget and I want it to be overboard and unbelievable looking so that's why it's costing so much.
