@ebarnes0:  It’s not my favorite thing I’ve seen, but I don’t think it’s necessarily cheesy or overdone.  But I do kind of feel like both you and your FI should love whatever you choose, since I assume you will have it hanging in your house.  Does your FI have any suggestions to what he would like?

@ebarnes0:  Seems kinda pricey for just a printed map.  However, you have plenty of time, so I’d shop around and see what else comes up.

@ebarnes0:  I like the idea of the diary, but only because it is more personal to you.

Also, if you think the guest book is a waste, and you’re having a “small DW” I don’t think you actually really need one. Just a thought!

@ebarnes0:  Now that is pretty awesome! 🙂  Yeah, that’s fair that you want to do both, I say go for it!  We also did 2 guestbooks – we had a photo guestbook (with polaroid inserts) and a fingerprint tree.  Both came out great.

@ebarnes0:  It’s not something that you couldn’t do yourself in photoshop and just have printed at kinkos/walmart/costco.  If it came with the frame, I’d say it’s an awesome deal.  However, take my opinion with a grain of salt, I decorated my entire wedding (including flowers) for $400; so I’m pretty miserly when it comes to weddings lol.

I don’t really want a bunch of signatures to be part of our home decor. It’s just not my style. I think we are going with a traditional book (maybe a photobook?) and I doubt we will look at it too often, so I plan on going cheap. David’s Bridal gave me a coupon for a free one, so that sounds great to me!

@ebarnes0:  We went with the idea that we wanted a guest book we would actually display.  So we chose to have our guests sign their names to our favorite album in its vinyl version (The Mountain Goats’ Tallahassee.)  Our song is on the album so it’s special.  Plus, the album art is pretty.

We ordered grease pens to sign the album and they worked out perfectly.  Now to find a shadow box to frame it in.

@ebarnes0:  I love the map idea! I send a card to the couple of every wedding I go to and so hate having to find something to write in a guest book too! My cousin gave us a guest book to use at our wedding but out of our 42 guests only about 5 wrote in it. Also it will get stuck in a drawer or cupbard and you won’t look at it. A picture is a nice reminder of your day.

@beachbride1216:  That is one of the most original ideas I’ve seen. I love it!
