    Hey Bee's,

I'm new here and need an idea of wedding costs! I wanted to know your total guest count and how much the entire wedding has cost you and your fiance. This can be an estimation, if you are still planning, or an actual amount if post-wedding. Thanks guys!

60 guests, $10k. We could have spent less, but we chose to cut the guest list to spend more per guest.

55-65 guests. The budget was 12k, but I have a feeling it may end up being closer to 13k. This excludes wedding rings, honeymoon and grooms tuxedo.

60-70 guests.  $45K in wedding-only costs (i.e., not including honeymoon, rings).  Our "budget" started out around $30K but ballooned pretty quickly.

We are at 220 guests, and a cost of about 30,000 for a large traditional french cathloic wedding.  Most of our cost is in food and alcohol, which is at 22,000  (hors doeuvers, 5 course meal, midnight buffet and open bar)

About 40 guests, and we're hoping to come in around $4,000 for the wedding and reception.  The honeymoon makes that number quite a bit bigger...

100 guests and our budget is about $28,000. But I'm hoping to save save save and come in closer to $20,000.

We're saying 18K (not including honeymoon or e-ring) for 180 guests, and guessing 150 will come... should be interesting!

Including rings and local mini-moon, but not parents' travel costs: 20k for 80 guests. Most of the costs are not per-guest though, so each additional guest would only be around $60. We initially hoped to come in around $10k.

Not including rings and honeymoon, we came in at $10,500 for 60 guests with full dinner and open bar (wine and beer).  With honeymoon and rings, we came in at $14k.

Not including rings ours is around $5000 for 100(ish) people for a Sunday afternoon hor'dourves reception. We have no bar so that makes a big difference. We also don't have a DJ or an outside photographer (lots of family members are professional photographers so we have no need).

Really it depends on the location, time of day, and your "must haves". Best advice I can give you is to figure out a guest list, then a budget, then what type of wedding you'll have based on those two things. If you want a ton of people, maybe you do something low-key or just a dessert reception. If you have a small group, you can do a seated intimate dinner.

Including everything (rings, dress, catering, photography, venue, etc) except honeymoon it will be under $4,000 for 80 guests.  (This also includes a campfire night, the night before the wedding and the reheasal dinner for 30.)  The wedding is casual and DIY, with a buffet dinner and no alcohol being served.

as of today, my spreadsheet informs that that with everything (rings, honeymoon , and rehearsal dinner included), we are looking at about $48,000 for 120.

OMG. i just about fell off my chair. a few weeks ago it was more like $42k..then my parents decided to get ahold of the guest list and add 20 people. i don't think it can possibly go up any more, but we are still 7 months out...

100 people, $25k for everything but the rings and 1/2 the honeymoon.  (We were not planning on using our wedding money for the honeymoon at all, but we came in under budget, so put the extra money towards our honeymoon flights and rental car.)

The budgets really depend on where you are having your wedding as things are more expensive in some places than others.  My budget total is around $5500-$6000 for 137 invited guests.  I am hoping the actual attendees amount to closer to 100, though.

400 guests. FMIL and FFIL will cover food at $15k.

The rest will be covered by me and FH - $20 - 25k budget.

    Total = 35 - 40k.... for 400 guests. Yes! It's possible! =)

We will have about 75 adults and 10 children (under the age of 10), and including rings and everything else except for honeymoon (because we are not taking a traditional honeymoon right after the wedding), we will end up spending right about $25,000. I originally wanted to spend under $20k, but will end up over that.

    Biggest expenses for us are:

    • Venue $2500 (but it’s right ON the ocean)
    • Food/alcohol – about $14,000+ (but we are serving heavy hors d’oeuvres and 4 course formal plated dinner, plus dessert, and have to pay for trabsportation out to the island we're getting married on)
    • Photographer $2500 (she was just featured in the NYT wedding section a few weeks ago, she’s awesome woot woot)

We had about 68 guests including a few kids under 12 and our wedding came out to 20k.  this does not include the honeymoon and rings.

Our biggest cost was food/alcohol/venue.  that bundled into one came out to 11k.  we had open bar, four course dinner, choices for entree with upgrades, hor d'oeurves, late night table, etc.

I think it all depends on where you live.

We're having about 175-200 people. and so far have spend about $8,000. Not including honeymoon(his parents are paying for that). We have a few months to go so we think we'll end up at about $12,000.

@PortlandBride.....you had 700 guests!!!!  Omg...that in itself requires a posting of it's own.  AND it only cost you $24K for that many people!  Wow!  You must be super savy when it comes to money.  You totally have my admiration.

We are hoping to keep the # of guests at 220 tops and the total cost will be around $25K....(that is if we do not add anymore "extras" in the next 9 weeks)!

30-40 guests at 10,000. We're getting married in Mexico so that includes our honeymoon, our parents' trips and rings. Without that stuff we'd be at about 4,000.

Ours was just under $10,000 for 60 guests.  However, ours was complicated (and the cost increased) by the fact we were a same-sex wedding.  That increased the cost of everything from the synagogue (we had to get married in Massachusetts, and pay nonmember rates) to wedding dresses (we needed two of them).

@futureMrs.L: We got pretty lucky all around. I used to be an event/wedding planner, so I used a lot of my connections there. Also, my father in law is really well connected and he helped us get some good deals on things. We had 700 people because FIL is head pastor of our home church (my husband grew up in the church, so everyone knew him), which is pretty big, and we extended the invitation to the whole congregation. It was a wonderful celebration being surrounded by so many people who cared about us, and it made for an awesome dance party! :)

We're budgeting $10 000 for about 180 invited guests, hoping no more than 160 will come. However, we're not having alchohol and we don't have to pay any venue rentals so that cuts down a lot on costs.

I agree - the cost definitely depends on location and type of venue.

We are inviting 200 guests (and anticipating 160).  If we used typical wedding vendors and not DIY stuff it would be at least $50K.  We estimated $30K in wedding-only costs (i.e., not including honeymoon, rings) but are going over by 10 to 15%.

Good Luck and welcome to the hive!
