I was wondering if any of you could reassure me or give me advice about my guest list. As of now, I have about 185 people invited to our wedding. Some are from out of town, many are in the area. The chapel where I would LOVE to get married seats 140. I want all my guests to be invited to the ceremony and reception. I am hoping that around 150 people show up. Does this estiimate sound about right??? Thanks so much for your help!

@MrsBen: Yikes. I don’t think I could invite more than the venue would hold. They say that on average there is a 20% decline rate on your RSVPS, but that’s certainly not guaranteed.

That’s tough because you don’t really know…
Have you thought about doing A and B lists? As in when one person declines you invite another. I know it’s kind of uncomfortable but so is not having seats for everyone.
How long is your ceremony?

@MrsBen: and how do you have 185 ppl already invited to your November wedding? Is this a potential guest list only or have these ppl been given a save the date or otherwise told they’d be invited? if they’ve been given save the date or invited before picking a venue, that’s tricky because you’ll need to invite them all. I think you’d need to take those numbers into account before choosing venue unless it’s destination or something different and you know for sure 30 or so definitely won’t come
