    Hello Bees!

I am looking to find the 'best' way to track our guest list without using a website.  Ideally I would like to do it in excel but I have no idea where to start.

    Thoughts?

Do you want to track RSVPs? I would just create a spreadsheet...I have one with their names, address, the number of people, the acceptance/decline and meal choice.

I use excel for ours, and highlighted the entire sheet in yellow.  As the responses start coming in, I list accept or decline and the number (I have a sum box at the bottom so I know the total number accepted), and unhighlight them.  That way now that the RSVP date is passed, I can quickly see who we are waiting on.  I can email you my template if you'd like, Ill just delte my guests names out of it.  PM me if you want me to send it on over

I am using excel. I created spreadsheets for each of our guest lists (Bride, Groom, Couple and a "Maybe" lists). Then I have a column of # of guests invited / # attending, full name, address, phone, email, RSVP and gifts (to keep track of what they gifted us and when).

I have spreadsheets in excel one has all addresses and the other is just a list of names broken into catagories like FI family, my family, neighbors, friends... than I have a spot for RSVP #, gift, sent thank you.. this way you have one list with everything in one spot.

i use excel. i've got the following columns:

rsvp (entered as a number, summing at the top so i don't have to scroll all the way down to get headcount)

estimate (this is probably overkill but i had actual rsvp number if they had already rsvp'ed and if not, i had an estimate of whether they would likely come and if they would be 1 or 2 - ie bringing a +1. so at any point in time, i knew what our expected total headcount would be)

guest first/last name (separate columns so we can sort)

    +1's first/last name

    address

phone number (in case you ever need a calling tree to chase down rsvps)

    arrival/departure dates for oot guests

    email addresses

    gift

we also had dates for when they got sent their std, invite, etc b/c we didn't wait till all were completed to send them out.

we didn't differentiate betw groom /bride etc but that can easily be added as as a column or you can color code

i'm a big fan of noting things in different columns b/c you can then sort for things.
