Hey, i'm in the same exact position as you. My date is only a couple days after you as well. Where is your venue and what hotels are you going through? I'm at Bluemont Vineyard and for now we've only booked through Comfort Inn in Leesburg and they only have the one-way 14 person shuttle.
Personally, I'm looking into renting a Loudoun County school bus since my event is pretty rustic and low key to begin with - I don't think it is nearly as expensive as a charter bus.
I'll come back to this thread with any updates I may have.
@KateByDesign: Please do share any luck you may have!
We are doing Leesburg& would love to know how we can get our guests from Ashburn to Leesburg.
Please keep sharing! We're looking at Culpeper, VA and have a similar situation. Our venue (Old House Vineyard) is about 20 min away from the hotel, and like Bluemont, it's down a twisty, windy road. I'm worried about guests driving from the reception back to the hotel after a few drinks, but have no idea how to get them from A to B without a ton of trips or a really expensive bus.
@KateByDesign: I like the school bus idea, but I have SUCH bad memories of musty, uncomfortable school buses when I was a kid in Texas. Are VA buses better? Would this be worse for guests than nothing at all? BTW, congrats on Bluemont - that's a gorgeous venue and I love their wine!
I rented a school bus for my wedding and it was MUCH cheaper than a coach! I paid $654 for 7 hours of service. I rented through American Limousines Inc and was very happy with their service. (also, the bus was of a nice quality-- it belongs to the company, so school children don't ride in it everyday-- no bad smells, no gum stuck to seats) :)
Hi all! I am getting married in Hamilton VA in July next year. We are hoping for our guests to stay in Leesburg and are looking for a shuttle. Did anyone have any luck getting a Loudoun County School Bus? I also know a friend who uses Chariots for Hire for all of her events and she is always really pleased with them. Any further information would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

The hotel where most of the guests will stay is only a 20-minute drive from the venue, but we want to provide transportation for the guests (about 75-85 people) so no one has to worry about drinking/driving, and because there aren't really that many cabs, and definitely aren't any public buses, in that area (Loudon County, VA).
So...I started inquiring with transporation companies about getting a shuttle bus to take people from the hotel to the venue and back again...and was shocked at the prices! The cheapest bus I've found so far is a 56-seat charter bus for a little under $1,000. The bus would still have to take a couple trips each way, which is fine, but I just had no idea a bus and a driver would be so much money.
I've tried to look for a school bus to rent, because that'd be cute, and I think cheaper (?) but haven't had any luck. Does anyone have any advice for me? The hotel has a 11-seat bus that they will rent to me for about $200 for the whole night, but transporting 11 people at a time will take hours...
Help, please!
