I would take the number of guests that we were expecting and divide it by the number of pages in the book  -maybe leave a couple of spare pages. That will determine how many guests you need to accomodate per page and the number of envelopes per page.

I think the number of small envelopes is part of the cuteness factor in the Martha Stewart idea, along with the bright colors.

Cute book!  Red and orage envelopes sound good.  Possibly some beige, light brown or tan paper for the notes.  Possibly something that ties into the pages of the book?

I would do multiple shades of red and orange, because I think part of the appeal of the inspiration picture is in the multiple shades of pink. I want to second auggiefrog on the tan, ivory and light beige colors for the notes.

Try to purchase acid free paper if possible, the colors will fade over time, and if they are not acid free the color will fade more significantly.

Those envelopes look so cute! My only concern is that envelopes might make the book a little “fat” when it’s closed. I don’t know though, it’ll probably work our great.

Hey!

Just found this post. Hows the book coming along??

I just found some awesome mini notecards with coordinating envelopes at Michaels. Its funny because the sales associate told me they didnt have any! I found them in the aisles in the front with miscellaneous stuff. Got a scrapbook made with card stock paper and am filling it up, 9 envelopes per page since they are small.

I know we will have to remove each one to read, but I think it’s fun this way!

You really could just go with black and white since your book is traditional.

If not, three of your wedding colors would be great for the book and definitely jazz it up!
