I think that whatever works best for you guys is great! : ) Maybe put a little poem in a frame beside it explaining what you would like guests to do (write down well-wishes, draw a sketch of you two down the road, etc.).

Do you want guests to sign the cover?  Make their own artwork on the pages?  I agree with PP – so long as you make it clear, I think it’s a great idea that will be really special to you and your man.

My FI and I are rabbit-obsessed and so we got this adorable children’s book about two rabbits in love, I made up a little sign with instructions to go next to it.  $15 total and I think it will be really cute.

Also – I would say that you might want to start it off with a few pages – no one wants to be the first person to do it!

Its a good idea! Im not really having a guest book, I’m just putting out 3 or 4 scrapbooking pages and the guest can sign them. So when I do one of my wedding, I can put them in.

You could also make it a little fancier, maybe wind some ribbon through the spirals or decorate it a bit … and you could personalize the front, perhaps by replacing the picture on the front with a sketch or picture of you and your Fi (either Xacto knife the one that’s on there out and use it as a frame for a picture you attach to the back of the cover, or just stick your picture right on top). I’m sure you could find a spot to include your names and the date too!

Then you’d get the personalization that makes a guest book fun for the guests to look at, while you also have the fact that it is special to you and your history together! Plus Fi might like the idea better if you can make it more guestbook-ish.

I think it’s a cool idea, and has the potential to be REALLY cool!

My only concern is that if guests are drawing, it will take up a lot of time and people won’t be able to sign quickly.  I am guessing that folks will forget about it later in the evening.  I’d take the individual sheets of paper and cut them down to (or buy pre-cut) 4×6″ or 5×7″ sheets and leave the sheets and some cups with pencils/markers/etc on a table with an example or two and a poem/framed instructions.  Then you can later bind the drawings into a keepsake book or display them in some other way.

I think it’s a great idea! I love personalized details like that.

Maybe put out some colored pensils and ask your guest to sign or draw a message to you!

@lmoss78:  That’s so CUUUUTE! : ) FH & I have a running joke about bunnie!Jenn, and we’ve definitely worked it in a couple places (cake toppers, the activity book colouring pages, etc.).

@inspiredcreations:  I think the only problem with that is that the special part to the OP is the cover, and the book itself.

OP, maybe buy several smaller versions of the sketchbook, so that more than one person can doodle at once? You could even put one on each banquet table with an instruction sign on each.

Get about 20 great photos of you and your beau and upload them to smilebooks.com

On each left page, add a full bleed photo and leave a blank page on the right side so the guests could sign them.  make sure your photos are 300 dpi so that they will be clear.

Your guests will love this personalized photo book and for about $30 you have your special love story for all to see.

I think you should put some pictures of yourselves inside– on each page, so there’s something sign around?

(But I think it’s absolutely adorable and perfect! Do it!)
