How many guests are you having? Think about the amount of space they will need in order to have room to sign and then work backwards.
I'd also take a look at some websites, the craft store (for both frame mat inspiration and the wedding section for pre-made ones), etc to see how large most of the ones that exist out there are, and to get an idea for how many signatures you want to collect.
Do you mean like a signature mat?

The one that they are selling on this website is 16x20 and if I had to guess that would probably hold around 100 signatures/well wishes. Perhaps you could make something that's 20x20 or so?
If you live close to a wedding shop, perhaps you could ask to look at the signature mats and then ask them what the specs are for their mats and how many signatures they hold and from there create your own with the exact measurements you get from the store. You could ask them what the specs for your photo should be, etc.
Good luck and let us know what you find out!!!
They also sell a sign-able mat at Michaels for 8.99 - and the frame size is 20x20 and the picture size is 5x7!
Good Luck!
We had a mat custom made for our wedding with the wedding colors. The picture inside is 8x10 and the frame is 16x20. We had about 30 guests come to the wedding and the size was pretty good for that amount!
The guests don't really take up that much space. I think the Michael's one should be fine if you're on a budget.

Instead of having a guestbook my FI and I plan on having a picture and a mat that guests sign so that we can have it hanging in our home. The problem is I am creating this myself and I do not know what size our photo should be. Any thoughts bees?
