We invited 320 and had 220 show up. It also depends if alot of your guests from out of town or local, if you have alot of out town, some or alot of them mugt not be able to come.
Yep, I agree with pp. We invited 174 and only 95 actually are coming!! We are having a pseudo-destination wedding and we did not invite any children so this definitely kept the numbers down...I would not advise inviting way more than you could actually afford to have...you never know--your wedding could be the one that everyone just has to attend!
Most of my vendors have all told me to expect around 75% to show up out of the people that we invite. I'm really crossing fingers and toes that they're correct, since our venue will only hold 160 and we have 200 on th guest list!!
But I do also agree that location and proximity will play a factor. If you have mostly local guests (like us) then I would think that the chances of a slightly higher show up rate is to be expected...whereas guests from further away (especially now) will think twice about it. I hate to say it like that, but hopefully you know what I mean.
I'm really hoping for the 75% though...
we invited about 220 and are having about 132 at ours. Keep in mind, you might have a lot of "courtesy invites" on that list. We had a TON of them, and 99% of them didnt come.
I think the 75% rule is a safe one. We are also trying to keep our list to around 150. It started out at over 250. So we made rules... No +1 unless they have been together at least a year, and if we haven't seen / talked to them in a year and they aren't a family member or whatever, they were out. We limited our families people too... Since we are paying, no one objected. We will prob invite just over 200 and I'm good with that, as i don't thing all of them will show! :)
We invited 100 people (including us) and will have 66 (including us). The guests that declined were guests I expected to decline. Most of our declines were "courtesy invites" like KellyV said. :)
I invited around 230 and had about 180 show. But most of mine were also local. It doesn't sound like you are in bad shape with your list, but are there some folks that can be dropped? Is there a potential b list you can create?
We had 117 on our invitation list and 86 attended (including the 2 of us). I think our main discrepancy came from the fact that we gave all of our single guests an "and guest", and pretty much all of them came without dates.
I think it's a good point to think about how many invitees will be local. 100% of my family attended because we all live within 25 miles of one another.
we have 58 guests; witha 97% rsvp rate
it depends on how close you are to the guests
we are close to everyone we invited so the yes's are very high
wouldnt mind some no's
I'm agonizing over the same thing. I actually avoid doing guest list stuff, which is dumb because I REALLY need to do it. I just can't figure out how many we should invite, how many we actually want to come, and how in the world to be more cutthroat. :-/
thanks girls! i appreciate it=)..the numbers from invited to actual makes me feel better!!
tanya123, yeahh we're revising and trying to see if there are any people we could potentially drop..it's such a hard decision though!!!

hey everyone! so my fiance and I said that we would like to have about 150 guests at our wedding..when we compiled our list from my family, his family, and our friends, it comes out to way over 150..i would say about 200-220...my question is, how many people did you invite to your wedding, and how many actually came?? i just want to get an idea so that we have a feel of what to expect....
