Ok so I know it’s common sense that it is NOT acceptable to invite guests to your shower and not the wedding. We are having a destination wedding and wanted to keep it small. We decided not to invite any of his 52 cousins (almost all of them are married.. so close to 100 people!). They are all significantly older than him so everyone was fairly comfortable with that situation. So for my shower, my sister has been getting RSVPs for his Aunts asking if it is ok for some of the cousins to come to the shower even though they wouldn’t be invited to the wedding. My sister has been giving them the ok.. which I am also fine with. If they are comfortable with it then I don’t mind. I just find it a little strange that they would do that. What do you think that is all about? Do they just want to show their support or are they still hoping for an invite to the wedding?
