I am creating my own invites, similar to Corgitales (http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/diy-invites-done-ish)
but I was thinking of putting the guests names on the front instead of our own…eg, “John & Jane” or “John & Guest”…does anyone think this would look weird? Opinions? Thanks!

IMO I think it’s weird, but that’s just me.
Also….. there are so many ways to spell someone’s name wrong, I would be too scared that I’d do that. Having a last name that’s commonly misspelled, anything I get w/ my name wrong gets trashed, no matter what. *Shrug* it’s just not my name. Our friends are getting married in August and their STD’s had my name spelled wrong on the envelope, and it’s disappointing. I wouldn’t want to toss something so lovely as a personalized invite, but… if my name were spelled wrong…

@WineAndCupcakes: I am planning to verify everyones name before I address the invites anyways..and I don’t think anyone would get any angrier about having their name spelled wrong on the invite then the envelope..so i’m not too worried about that.

I don’t think it’s too weird…just make sure you have time to do it and you’re not going to be cursing yourself 25 invitations into that project! 🙂

I think its just extra work for you. Its different if you make a mistake on the envelope you can always trash the envelope, but if the actual invite has a mistake thats much worse IMO.
