I’m sorry if this has already been posted, but I saw on the Today Show this morning that they are expecting, via a gestational surrogate. Gestational means that the baby is genetically theirs, right?
Anyway, congrats to them! I love their show!

Awww. Good for them! I know they’ve had a long road.
If I’m not mistaken, a gestational surrogate has the couple’s embryos implanted via IVF, like Phoebe on Friends. So yeah, I think the baby will be genetically theirs.

@zippylef: Thanks! I missed where they actually talked about what it meant, so I wasn’t sure. I could google it, but I am lazy and tired.
Unrelated, but how is YOUR LO?

That’s wonderful for them! Sharing the struggles in the public eye must be so difficult, it’s great to see that they are going to become parents.

@Linz1231: She’s doing good! She’ll be 3 weeks old tomorrow! She’s back up to birth weight and growing well. We’re planning a trip home to StL in September. I’ll probably be around for a few months since DH will be deployed.

Aww, I love them! That’s great news. I’ve been following their story for a few years. It must be so hard to go through something so personal in the public eye. They deserve a baby.

I started following their story when I read an article about her cancer. They seem like very genuine, sweet people – easy to root for! So glad they get their chance to be parents!

I love them too, but I can’t help but feel that her unwillingness to gain weight is why she can’t carry this child herself.

I’m so silly. I cried about this.
