I think lots of people do this, in fact there is an entire board dedicated to rings.

I do it!

All the ads that show on my screen are now ring ads – LOL! My FI teases me for it, but sometimes he gets annoyed by my incessant oohing and ahhing over bigger rings when I could have just gotten one of those from the get go.

I was going to have an Art Deco inspired bezel halo custom made as a stand in ring, but I’ve now decided to wait until I get my wedding band(s). I just adore my e-ring but I can’t help wanting other ones! I’d also like a classic emerald cut solitaire…I’m really bad.

@mrsmay07:  I also have this problem! I’m obsessed with rings, and always on the hunt for new ones. I stalk ebay, etsy and these boards a lot. My husband said he’s going to have to give me away to a richer family haha. I just think rings are the most romantic of all jewelry!

@Mrsl2dmh: My boyfriend and I recently started the process of having my e-ring custom made. We had a few hold ups though, and in the meantime I’ve been looking at more and more rings.. which meant that I kept coming up with more and more details I wanted added! Ha! So what initially started as an emerald cut halo has turned into an emerald cut halo with rose gold.. double claw prongs.. and now diamonds on the prongs/basket/supports. Luckily it hasn’t driven the price up TOO much, and my boyfriend has just said “if you want it, get it!”. I’m actually kind of relieved now that we had so many hold ups, because if we hadn’t I’d definitely be wistfully looking at other rings with these details!

I also do this and I feel so guilty.  I wish I had the balls to show my FI one of the semi-mounts I adore and talk about getting my stone reset, but I’d feel so shallow and ungrateful so I am shying away from ever bringing it up!

I got married in 2009 and still love looking at rings! I’ve bought a few styles since after looking at the ring board (morganite in rose gold, garnet in antique setting, etc.). My goal is to have a stone in every shape and in many types of settings (e-ring is an emerald diamond in a platinum solitaire setting, RHR morganite oval in bezel set rose gold, princess aquamarine in a white gold halo, round garnet in antique-style setting). I love rings!

Oh my gosh…I’m the same way!!! I LOVE rings!! I always have…even when I was little, but the real obsession started after I got engaged…I just love looking at them.  Sometimes I think it would go away if I had just gotten my dream ring to start with…because I always end up going back to the original setting I wanted.  My center stone is what I always wanted, but my setting ( dh got confused by what he thought I wanted) and I ended up with a setting I didn’t want.

When I finally go the nerve to talk to my dh about it ( we have been married for 7 years) he got really upset and basically I told him I would leave the ring as is forever….so….my dream setting (classic tiffany) is gone 🙁  I still love looking though…even though it drives me crazy at times!! LOL

@Mrsl2dmh:  Yes, always. i love jewellery. It’s as simple as that. Some people like handbags, some people like cars, some people have craft hobbies, my hobby is looking at, designing, making, buying jewellery 🙂 Nowt wrong with looking.
