Hello, can we please empty our pockets before throwing our clothes in the dirty laundry? I usually find what I can… A pocket knife, a pen, money, candy wrappers… You name it and I’ll bet ya he’s had it in his pocket. I ask one thing of FI, EMPTY YOUR POCKETS! Nope, just can’t seem to do it.
Well I made the horrible discovery that he had left gum stashed away in one of his pockets and what do you know, it got everywhere in the dryer. Maybe I’m just a little extra pissed today since he hit me in “the baby holder” while asleep last night.
What does your SO do that for some reason cannot stop doing no matter how many times you have asked???

Also there is not a baby in my holder just yet, that’s just how he referred to it this morning.

@Artificial-Sweetener: Oh my goodness! The second worse is crayon in the dryer. Gum has to be the absolute worst! Ugh!
My FI just can’t seem to stop poking the bear. He leaves food out of the fridge. Leaves the stopper up in the shower so I get cold water on my head every time I try to turn the bathtub water on. He doesn’t listen to me and then can’t figure out why it all went to shit (on almost any subject line). Oh well, I figure by the time he’s 50 he’ll give up and just do it my way 😉

WTF? My FI is actually better than I am about taking things out of pockets. I’ve never been good about it because I don’t put things in my pockets. However, he does try to do my laundry as favor and he SHRINKS EVERYTHING. He shrunk a vintage sweater that was my grandmother’s, the only pair of shorts I’ve ever liked, my favorite pair of jeans, and more. I can’t tell you how many clothing items he’s had to replace. He still doesn’t seem to remember to LEAVE MY CLOTHES ALONE!!
He’s damn cute, though. So I keep him around.

I winced as soon as I read the title. Gum in the dryer is not something I’ve ever experienced and I’m thankful for it. My FI likes to hoard his empty yogurt cups in the office. Seriously, there will be 20 of them all in a neat stack when I go in there. Why is it so hard to put them in the trash where they belong? In fact why does it seem so difficult for him to put any empty package in the garbage? You used up the cheese, that’s great, now please just put the plastic in the garbage don’t leave it on the counter or table cluttering up my workspaces!

I totally understand! The ONE time FI did the laundry, he didn’t check the pockets and low and behold, there was gum in there. It got ALL over the dryer AND our clothes. Not to mention he dried everything in the load, so my shirt that was not supposed to go in the dryer, was GLUED together in various spots with hot, dryer gum. It was a sticky, jumbled, horrible mess. So now I do the laundry all the way until it needs to be folded. Then he steps in. But seriously, how hard is it to check for these things??? Men….
Also, he leaves his dirty underware on the floor NEXT to the hamper. It takes the same amount of energy to drop it on the floor, as it does to drop it in the hamper. So suffice it to say, I just don’t get it.
I swear I love him, though! LOL
