Just had a really funny moment with my bf. So, a little background. We are both athletes so normally in great shape. We live a bi cultural, 6month in Europe, 6 in Puerto Rico lifestyle. This summer we had planned a great adventure with our bikes riding some parts of the Tour de France race course. Long story short, our expensive racing bikes were stoleN in Geneva, Switzerland when we stopped at friend’s house to leave some stuff there on our way to France. :'( . No way for me to replace my almost $5,000 bike so fast. I could ideally done some swimming but chose to invest that time getting some much needed physio therapy for a bad shoulder injury that might need surgery.
Anyway, I gained quite a few pounds. And he just brought a scale to the room to write down my weight so we could check the progress and next year see how different it is. I totally refused as I leave in two days to Puerto Rico and can’t train until I get there. Because we are both goofballs, I told him 2 things.
1. I will be “depressed” for two days by knowing how much I gained without being able to do anything about it (train) or eat healthier (flying and traveling).
2. I said… babe? Come here. And I whispered in his ear… I really REAlly want to have some great sex with you tonight. If I step on that scale it ain’t gonna happen. Because you are about to ruin it. We both giggled and he said okay. 😛
Aaaanyway, don’t you find how crazy it is for guys to sometimes call us a bit chubby, out of shape even when jokingly and in good humor and then pretend us to act all sexy in bed? Um dudes, if I don’t feel sexy, i WONT act sexy!!!
Thank God bf and I joke all the time, don’t take ourselves too seriously and he is never really putting me down but I’ve heard some men really critisizing their wife, gf or SO And then complaining about not “getting anything”. I find it hilarious how they can’t add 2+2. They just really process things different and you could call them fat and probably most of them will laugh it off with no effect on their libido!
Has any of this happened to you? Let’s share the stories!
