Props to you for coming to us for help – we’re always here! I think the ring you selected is gorgeou – however it states it is a wedding band, which usually compliments and completed the engagement ring. Each couple chooses to do things differently, so if this is the course you are going, then I say go for it! As for help, my Fiance talked to my mom, aunt (who is like a mom) sister, best friends, and recruited all of them in. He had my sister one day, as we were shopping, casually mention, "ooh lets go try on diamonds for fun!" so we did. And I thought nothing of it. Thing is, some styles are wonderful in photos and look very different on her hand. Id recruiit someone to do something undercover like this and report back to you with what she falls in love with. Keep in mind too, that she’ll likely be so ecstatic that the ring is the icing on the cake. After Mr Y asked me, I was so thrilled that I forgot he was even holding a ring!! Good luck to you!

Very beautiful ring! It is a wedding band, not an engagement ring… But some people do things untraditionally. My husband and I looked at some rings together (so he could get the general sense of what I liked) and then he went with his father to pick out my ring. If you want to keep it a surprise, it’s a great idea to recruit help from your girlfriend’s mom, sister, friends, etc… Also, you can start taking more notice of what kind of jewelry your girlfriend normally wears. Does she like yellow gold, white gold, silver, platinum, etc…? Does she like diamonds or does she like colored gem stones? Is all of her jewelry over the top and flashy or is more subtle and reserved? Those kid of questions should help you find the perfect ring for your lady!
Good luck! And make sure you keep us updated on when you ask the big question!

Thank you for all your advices! you’ve been very nice.. and I believe conventional things are not for me, if I like a ring and she does too, who cares if they state is wedding or engagement? ihihi
I think we are almost there to have this ring-thing sorted out. her best friend was really helpful.. some times I fear she knows her better than I do and I feel a bit jealous.. btw she was very nice helping me!
As Lucie mentioned I wanted to go for a platinum ring cause both me and Marta really like this metal. It’s the purer on hearth I think.. isn’t it?
By the way, I think I’ll buy this platinum ring or a very similar one. Do you have any experience on online purchases? I’m not sure I can trust online shops. What’s your opinion about it? they are a bit cheaper, aren’t they?
thank you againg for such kind responses!

It’s ok, girls talk about jewelry MUCH more than men do! My now-husband would NEVER have been able to pick out a ring for me all by himself. Any of my friends or mom could have pointed it out though, as I sent them tons of pics and all we talked about for a few months was my ring to be!
Go with whatever metal you and your girlfriend prefer! There are pros and cons to either and it all comes down to preference.
Does she want a wedding band style ring for an engagement? It looks like a wedding band and most people will assume she is married already. As long as you both are happy that is all that matters. That, and that whatever you get her is affordable for you!
I’ve bought things online, not necessarily jewelry. I’d stick to a big retailer, though, just to be sure.
Also, take a picture of the ring (including the info about the diamonds) to a jeweler and see what he says. You may be surprised that a jeweler can make the ring for cheaper or give you better stones. It doesn’t hurt to look around.

thanks for the advice; do you think day can tell from the pictures?

yes, well, the website specifically says “4mm heavy weight court wedding band with 10 round diamonds G,H/VS 0.2 carats’ so a jeweler should be able to give you a very accurate estimate for what he/she could make it for.
