So we sat down with the event planner at our venue this weekend and put down our first deposit on the reception. I LOVE the location and have been to events there in the past and it was great, but the planner left much to be desired. She was very cold and almost rude. I’m not really asking for advice, I just needed to vent a little bit…sorry!
I am kind of worried that this process is going to be more stressful because she is just not helpful.
Anyone else dealt with a difficult event planner?

Our event planner is really nice but sometimes takes forever to get back to us. I’m not sure which is worse – a nice event planner who’s sometimes out of touch, or a cold event planner who knows what she’s doing! (I mean, I do hope she knows what she’s doing – I guess if the other events have been great, she can at least do her job.)
I wouldn’t worry about her attitude as long as you trust her to get the job done – if she’s cold but professional, then at least you’ll have a wonderful wedding and can let her blend into the background of the planning.
Was there anyone else there with you at the meeting? Did they agree with you? Maybe she just takes a while to warm up? Or if you really don’t click, but your FH doesn’t mind her attitude, maybe ask your FH to take over the direct contact with her. (I did this with the church where we’re getting married because the vicar drives me crazy – FH is much better at dealing with him, so all communications are now his responsibility.)

Both of our mother’s were there with us and they both agreed. They actually made the comment before I did. FH didn’t like her either and he can be a lot nastier than me so I should probably deal with her. Good advice though! Thank you 🙂

Our Facilitator at our venue is really sweet, but takes a great deal of time to get back with us. Maybe she wa sjust having a bad day…just see how things progress with her. You have plenty of time to feel her out.
