I would send an email to the person you interviewed with and follow up and let them know that you are still interested and would love to talk about the position again if they are up to it.
The worst that could happen is you don't get the job again. You can handle it!
I say go for it! It shows that you are very interested in the company and job. I think it's an advtg.
I think you should definitely re-apply and call the person you interviewed with ASAP. When I was younger I went through a temp agency and interviewed for a permanent, full-time job that sounded perfect for me. The interview went well, and I had a good feeling about my prospects. Unfortunately I was told that the company chose someone a little older than me who had more experience from being in the Army. I was their 2nd choice though. Well, I was very disappointed and felt horrible, and my then fiance thought he could cheer me up with some pot. I don't want to imply that I was a druggie or anything like that; I've smoked pot like maybe 5 times my whole life. Yeah, stupid me, because a few days later the temp agency called and said that the company wanted to hire me because their first choice didn't work out at all. And all they needed from me was to do a routine drug test and then I was in. Needless to say, I had to admit what I did and never went back because of the shame & embarrassment. I still kick myself in the butt for messing up such a great opportunity. :(
Sorry for the rambling, but my point is that you might've been a close 2nd and they may be beyond thrilled to have you in that position. Good luck!!
Definitely reapply and call the person you interviewed with before! At my agency, most of the people we've hired in the last 5-10 years have been serial applicants. One guy I know has been trying to get on here for a while; he's interviewed four times and been second choice for 3 of those jobs. I have a pretty good feeling that he'll make it all the way next time he interviews. :) Sometimes it just takes a couple interviews to actually land the position, even when they want you for the job!
When I was in high school I was dying to work at this really trendy resturant in town. I just knew I would be great at the job, but I got turned down a couple of times for various reasons (mostly my age). I ended up applying THREE times. The first I didn't get an interview, the second I had a face to face interview with no call back, and the third time I had two interviews and then got the job! I worked there for years until I finally moved away for school, so my persistance paid off!
I think it also has a lot to do with who is interviewing. Maybe next time you will have a different person who you click with better and they will give you the job. If it's something you want badly enough it never hurts to try. What would be the worst case scenario? You get rejected again? Oh well, you've been there and it didn't kill you so I would say go for it. You have nothing to loose :)

Have any of you ever applied to a job with whom you previously had a face to face interview with?
There is a job that I had a second interview with (this was about 8 months ago) and unfortunately did not get the job. Well, I saw that recently the same position is now posted on their site. I am hesitant to apply, but then think "if I was that close, and the person they decided on is now leaving, maybe this gives me a leg up?"
What do you ladies think? Have any of you applied again, after a second interview? If you were to apply again, would you send an email or call the person who interviewed you?
