- Wedding: July 2014
Top 2 pics are the Tara keely dress. Bottom is casablanca dress.
I’ve been engaged since July 2013. I thought that looking for a dress was going to be easier than I thought. I started looking in November. After looking at hundreds and hundreds of dresses online and about every say yes to the dress episodes I knew what I wanted. I knew I wanted some lace. I went to 2 bridal stores locally and tried on every lace dress they had. I wasn’t getting a feeling. So I decided to go to Portland Oregon which is about 4 hrs away. I went to a store and tried on dresses from different designers such as martina liana and others. I still wasn’t getting the feeling So came back home empty handed. I decided to go again with an open mind and maybe try on ball gowns but this time made 2 appointments at 2 different stores. I went to the first appointment and started with ball gowns but after trying in a couple I decided to go back to mermaid/fitted style. close to the end of the appointment I tried on a dress that I saw on another bride and thought it was beautiful. I tried it on and really liked it. I thought this is it. It had lace and sparkle. It was casablanca 2117. But since I had another bridal appointment and drove 4 hours I thought I should prob go to the other store and just check it out. I really thought I wasn’t gonna like anything and to my surprise I did. I liked a beautiful allure lace mermaid dress. Well I was undecided and didn’t know what to do. After thinking about it I decided to purchase the casablanca dress. After coming home I kept questioning wether I had made the right decision. I kept looking back at both dresses and pictures of me in them. A couple days went by and I knew that I had chosen the right dress between those 2 dresses but still was unsure about the dress I chose (casablanca dress). I called the bridal store and spoke to my consultant, she told me they hadn’t ordered the dress and what they were able to do is not refund my deposit but instead just give me store credit. I went back to the store 3 days later and tried on more dresses.Of course I was trying and trying on dresses and wasn’t liking any of them, it was getting close to the end of my appointment when she brought me the Tara keely 2958 dress and loved it!!! I knew that was it. i loved the lace and the real buttons on the back and most importantly no bling. The casablanca dress was a beautiful dress but because of the bling it didn’t feel right to me. I felt very pegeantly. i wanted something simpler and the Tara keely dress is perfect. never thought picking out a wedding dress was going to be this hard but I’m glad I was able to keep looking for a dress and not gonna be stuck with the casablanca dress. I feel so relieved now and can picture my wedding day!
