I had my first fitting today and I was so scared my dress wasn’t going to zip up because the last time I visited it… well it didn’t even go half way up!!! Today however it zipped up! YAY!
I put the hoop on with my dress and my new taller shoes and NO HEM NEEDED!!!! wooooo! Saved $175!
I also seem to have gained a little weight in the chest and filled it out better so I barely need to get the top altered at all just a little tuck under my arms so when I lean forward to hug people I don’t blast them with boobies… LOL that will cost $35 and to be super safe she’s doing a hideaway halter strap. For the ceremony the strap will be tucked into the front of the dress but for the reception while I’m dancing I can pull it out and tie it up around my neck for extra support! That’s included in the cost of the the tuck.
The third thing I’m altering is the zipper to a corset. Though it did zip I’m still worried what if the zipper pops or what if the zipper won’t zip that day or what if I lose weight and the dress is too big!? To ease my mind I’m just having her add a corset back… that will cost $75 but it could be worse. She’s going to match the ribbon add loops and put in a modesty panel she said.
The last thing is the bustle. She wants to do a french bustle because of all the layers and the type of material… I’m fine with that and she said a 5 point will make it lay a little more flat than in the photos I will post from today… at $10 a point and a 5 point bustle that brings the last alteration to $50.
A grand total of $160… and here I was soooo worried it would be $500-$1000 because of all the beading. AND WHAT A NICE LADY! I had a great experience, I hope everyone else has such a great experience with their alterations!
So anyway heres the photos of my dress with the hoop and of my bustle. =D
I tossed a picture of my new shoes up there too… my next fitting is on the 12th so in 2 weeks hopefully I’ll have pictures of the brand new corset back! yay!!!!
