The back is definitely gorgeous. I agree, I am not completely sold on either of the front options (but of the two part options, I like the side part version better). What would it look like if you let some pieces be loose around your face? I think it would make it look a little softer from the front.

I like the side part–I think it’s a classic look, but you are right, it *is* kind of dated. I’m going with a side part with a little bit of poof though. Otherwise I think it looks really "worky" to me. But then again, when I need a more formal dressy look for work, I usually slick my hair into a side part with a ponytail in the back. If you want a "pomp" i suggest she go for something with a little more oomph. Your pomp lacks the volume I think a pomp needs to look super fabulous. It leaves a little to be desired in pictures….I’ve seen some that look way fabulous in pictures though. Don’t be scared to let her tease it! (ps have you tried going to a hair school to let them play with yhour hair? they’re so cheap and willing to try lots of stuff out. they’re slower but they also care a lot more because their instructor gives the final ok and at the place i go to, they never let crap work slide). I don’t think you’d necessarily need another hair trial, but find some in pictures and tell her you want one with that much lift or however.

I think your bun would look really adorable with some tiny little flowers tucked in if that’s your thing.

Side part is good.  Even a long sideswept bang is something I love!  Gives a less severe look imho.  Very lovely back!

I think the hair style is very pretty!  I prefer the side part.  If you can’t decide then try to look up ideas online or get photos from magazines and try another trial…. maybe even try a whole new hair style all together.  Then you will have more of an idea of what you really want.

It doesn’t hurt to look around. You want to really love the hairstyle you go with. I think you could go with a looser updo (still the same look though) because then your side part wouldn’t be so plastered against your head–is that what you dislike about it? I’m not a fan of really tight updos either, but I know sometimes they’re a necessity depending on where you are/heat, etc.

I would probably play with the part aspect of my hair in the mirror until i got an idea of how much volume/tightness looked good, then take a few pictures, and then take it to a salon closer. But, is your wedding that close? Hmmm. I just found some pics in a magazine and said "mix this style and this style….but make it "cleaner" and less tousled like this style" and she was like, "omg i love it, i can totally do it!"

Here are some side part AND pouf styles that i think would go nicely with the cute chignon you have…..these are less "stiff" and very soft and romantic. I think a loose piece or two around your face/neck would be nice if you think they wouldn’t get all sweaty

I would consider going to a different hairdresser.  Although I like how the backs looked, I didn’t quite like the front on both.  I’m having my hair done once more to make sure because I forgot to have the girl do my hair with the veil. Don’t forget that or a tiara if you plan to wear that as well.  Best of luck with the hair.

Here are some pics of what they’ve done with mine.

I like the back and I like a side part, but maybe not such a deep one?
