@kimmo416:  I’ve never heard of this but that’s SOOO scary!  Holy crap I’m so sorry you guys are going through this.  I would have freaked out!

The first dog that FI and I had together passed away from a genetic illness about 8 months after we got him, but the first sign that something was wrong was a small amount of blood in his stool.  THAT ALONE was enough to send me over the edge freaking out, so I cannot even begin to imagine the amount of blood you’re talking about.

Ugh, poor baby!  I hope she feels better ASAP!

@kimmo416:  Thanks love, it was incredibly hard, but I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason.  I’m convinced we got him in order to make that last time of his life awesome for him.  And in a weird way, the whole ordeal really brought FI and I closer (I thought we were going to break up over it at first) because you never know what you can go through together until you get in a situation like that.  We now have a wonderful terrier, but no other dog will ever match up to him, ever.  It taught us a lot about ourselves and each other, and our ability to get through awful things together.

I’m so glad that this is something your pup will get over and that your post ended very differently that I thought it would when I started reading it!

So glad she’s doing better! My dog had a similar ordeal, minus the blodd. I didn’t have her diagnosed as I knew she had gotten into some stagnant gross water at the dog park that afternoon. There was poo and puke everywhere, and the smell was the most disgusting thing my nose has ever encountered. I was cleaning it up and gagging. Freaking awful. She recovered but we definitely stay away from stagnant water!!

Thinking about your pup and hoping she feels 100% better very soon!!

@kimmo416:  AWW – poor thing! I can’t even imagine coming home and seeing all that blood. That is awful. My pup has shit in his crate before when he had a stomach bug, and that was disgusting enough!

I’m so sorry your doggy is sick, from a fellow dog mom I would freak out too, my dog is my baby. How traumatizing for you all. I am glad she is starting to get better and really glad your FI is home to monitor her. Best of luck during her recovery.
