You can’t haggle at Kleinfeld’s. What they charge is what they charge. Sales assistant’s aren’t allowed to give discounts other than what the store allows.

Have you ever seen a bride haggle on Say Yes to the Dress????

nowthisistaken :  I’ve seen a few episodes that brides haggle on say yes to the dress. I’ve seen them lower prices or add the veil etc. included in the price

I didn’t get my dress at Kleinfeld’s but I was able to haggle the price down. Honestly all I did was ask, “is there any wiggle room on the price?” If they would have said no, then fine, but they were willing to negotiate. I was going to order a new dress and get $400 off. Instead I ended up buying the sample I tried on for $700 off. It never hurts to ask.

I had an appointment at Kleinfelds and they were willing to throw in a bunch of alterations I was interested in. I ultimately didn’t go with that dress but I feel like they were willing to work with brides to make them happy, whatever that meant.

My mum haggles at Harrods!

the sales assistant might not be able to give discounts but someone will (or add extras). It’ll be worth them doing this especially if you can’t decide been a dress with them and a dress elsewhere.

They’ll just cover the discounts with the overpaid brides who don’t have a budget/never asks for discounts. 🙂

I didn’t go to Klienfelds but I absolutely haggled and saved over $450 on my dress! I’d suggest shopping around. I had a bit of leverage in my negotiating; I had 3 different prices on the same gown from a couple of stores and they beat the lowest price because they didn’t want to lose my business.

Haggling is fine in pretty much all buying/selling situations, go for it!

kelleyk8087 :  I didn’t buy my dress at klienfelds but they offered a certain percentage off if I bought it that day, so I’m sure you can try and get something else thrown in.

i got my dress at the pronovias store and had them match a price at another smaller store that I didn’t want to buy from.

Its always worth asking

kelleyk8087 :  I didn’t get my dress there, but fell in love with an Eve of Milady dress 10,000 with veil was 13,000.

Lowered the price to 9600 including veil and cathedral train.  Alterations extra.

kelleyk8087 :  I did receive the 10% discount, I can’t remember exactly why it was given butdidn’t ask for it and did not haggle, but made it known that I wanted to stay in a lower budget. I agree with others that if can’t hurt to ask but I really don’t believe that Kleinfeld’s is the type of store to negotiate on prices other than whatever standard  throw-in discount(like the 10% others have mentioned for older styles or during a trunk show) might be.

Of course, you can get gowns there from sample sales and they will be heavily discounted, so you should definitely look in to when they would have another sample sale again.
