Yeah, Dahlonega isn't exactly a booming city, so there probably aren't a lot of local people that do things like that. Is it just the makeup you're needing someone for or could you not find a good hair place either? My advice would be to go on places like Craigslist or on the Classifieds here and keep looking... :/ Sucks that no one wants to travel, but I can see why. It's pretty far. Did you look maybe in the Helen area or a little further out?
@AmeliaBedelia: I never even thought of looking on craigslist. I mean there are a TON of hair and makeup people and companies who will travel for a fee but I just really don't understand how to pick one? How do I know? It was againizing to spend 5 hrs. and $120 yesterday doing this trial run - I just don't want to do it again! Thats why I am hoping someone here will have some great recommendations!!!
@mks2626: I think if you pay a travel fee and don't do a trial you should go based on reviews and see their portfolio and things like that to make sure you like their work. Yeah I actually found a lot of things on Craigslist surprisingly. I felt weird searching it but it turned out ok. :)
Look up Rachael Hoch of Faceofmakeup.com - I just did a makeup trial with her and loved it! I know she does hair too and is willing to travel. You might have to pay a small travel fee but she's fairly reasonable. She's super sweet and extremely easy to work with.
Have you asked your BMs if they would be willing to pay to have their hair/makeup done? I have a hair/makeup girl that is traveling to my location and she's doing hair and makeup for me, my 3 BMs, FMIL, my stepmom and my niece. They are all paying for it themselves and had NO PROBLEM doing so. You just have to ask. Good luck!!
what about this place? It's says they do airbrush and will travel to Dahlonega.

I am STRUGGLING with finding hair and makeup!!! I am getting married up in Dahlonega in October. I just went for a trial run yesterday with a salon up there and was so disappointed!! I just felt rushed and like they were very amateur and not really getting what I wanted or willing to work with me. Aside from the eyelash application, I really felt I couldve done what they did myself. It was just ok, not wedding WOW that i want!!
I originally looked for someone from Atlanta who would travel up to Dahlonega (only 1 hr away)....but most people I spoke with wont travel without the whole bridal party getting service and most of my girls dont want service and I can't afford to get it for them. I am just not sure how to find someone that I can afford who will come up there and who does great work, preferabbly airbrush!! HELP!!
