@brittaful: Sorry it's been a month but I just saw this post - I am using Flawless Bride. I've seen their work at weddings here and they really do a wonderful job. She's located in Destrehan, which is a little bit of a drive from New Oleans, (less than an hour, but still?!)
I think you could afford hair, makeup, AND the $50 travel fee so she will come to you, all for under $200.
Hope this helps!
@khf777: Thanks so much for the response! I actually just did my trial with Get Polished yesterday and have booked Emily for the wedding! I loved Heather's website probably more than just about anyone, but was a little concerned about some of the reviews I saw. I know anyone probably gets their share of unfair bad reviews, but I just couldn't take the chance of a no-show. :(
They don't do hair but i highly recommend earth savers on magazine for makeup. :)
@brittaful: Get Polished looks really good - if I hadn't had personal experience with Flawless Bride I probably would've booked them too. And you're right about the bad reviews, huh? I will NOT be a happy (or pretty) camper if she no shows! Wish me luck!

I'm looking for suggestions for hair/makeup in New Orleans. I'm not looking for anything really fancy, have a budget of about $200 for hair AND makeup, and it would just be for me (I'm trying to keep everything low stress for the bridesmaids). My wedding is in the morning on Sunday, May 20th, so there might be issues with places being closed? I'm in NY and will probably only be down once prior to the wedding, so I don't have time to test a lot of different people. An acquaintance recommended Steven Sobel - any feedback or other suggestions?
