Hello everyone!

I need suggestions for a great place for hair + make-up in Honolulu (preferably Waikiki) for the wedding day. I am looking for a more natural look, and it seems like all the websites I've perused, the make-up looks caked on with the hairstyles looking quite dated. I'm starting to fret there are no decent hair & make-up stylists in Honolulu

Hi Denise,

You should check out Dorys Foltin. Her studio is near Diamond Head area, which isn't that far from Waikiki, or she can also come to your site. Dorys is quite popular among the Hawaiian brides in Oahu. Her style is more natural and soft compared to other makeup artists.

Here's the website: http://www.dorysfoltin.com. She also has a cosmetics line (www.maleana.com). Her prices are reasonable compared to LA/NYC/SF based makeup artists.

I thought the same thing when I got married at the Kahala last month, but I had an awesome wedding planner (Parasol Events -- Laura Lewis) and she recommended a GREAT hair and make up group!

The website might be misleading, but I communicated that I was looking for Natural with a captial "N" and Vicky did a FANTASTIC JOB! I did a hair/make up trial with CJ and she was good too, but Vicky did the actual style on the day of the wedding. She also did a great job with my Maid of Honor who she never worked on before!

Make an appointment before going and take pictures and ideas to help explain if you know exactly what you want. I went with nothing but a general idea and they performed better than expected!

Hi there fellow Bees, is anyone aware of a good makeup artist and hair stylist in the Waikiki/Honolulu area that are available for a September sunrise wedding? That would imply having the makeup artist/stylist come to me at approximately 4:00-4:30 A.M. Any help is appreciated!!!!!
