I didn't show my FI.
Did he realize it was your wedding hair and make-up he was seeing? Or did he think you were just playing around in our make-up bag?
Oh I don't know. Some men don't seem to care a lot about the trouble we sometimes go through to look good. But yeah, that would bum me out too.
i think some guys (and girls) are just oblivious to that kind of stuff. don't worry, i'm sure he always thinks you look beautiful..........makeup or not.:-)
If it makes you feel better, my FI asked if, instead of expensive makeup brushes, I could just buy cheap paint brushes!
I think you're being dramatic, but I don't blame you :) Boys don't notice these things! :) If other people thought it looked good, I would go with that.
If this happened to me, I wouldn´t worry too much, I know he is not like my girlfriends and is not going to get as excited about makeup and hair. But I also know he would be honest if he hates it.
I understand how you feel, but I think you know it is normal and you will feel better afterwards, but you need to take this time and vent... I´ve been there, even more now that the wedding is getting close!
Do you have pictures of your trial? I´m sure you looked very pretty
I'm in the boys don't notice these things camp. They really just don't. My husband has no idea if my hair is "done" or I've just let it air dry, if I caked on make-up or am wearing nothing. It seems impossible, but true.
If you got a good reaction from girls that you showed it to, I'm sure it was as beautiful as you thought it was. He'll catch up on the big day, don't worry!
Trust me, some guys just don't know how to react. They barely know how to say I love you let alone know how to be affectionate. My husband can't stand to go shopping, so imagine what hair and nails were like to him? Don't take it personally.
I see where it would bug you, but I have no doubt that he'll be wow-ed by the total effect on your big day! I wouldn't worry, although I'm one to talk :)
I can totally understand, but at least he said you looked cute! That means he noticed SOMETHING, right? :)
And I agree with @star, he will be blown away by how beautiful you are on your big day!
p.s. May I ask who your makeup/hair person is? I'm still looking for one in the greater LA area. Thanks!
If he said "you look cute" without any prompting, in my book that is a good reaction!!
i agree with most of the ladies here, men will be men. he was prbly just distracted by your eminating beauty to pay attention to your hair. when i do my hair up all nice and throw on some makeup and a nice outfit (esp if i'm wearing heels) my FH is like oh, you look nice. i mean, i can tell i look gorgeous but nice is a huge compliment from the FH
I'm not showing FI my trial (which is FREE btw-I get 3 or 4 free hair trials as long as my wedding day is paid in full...and SHE is coming to the church on my wedding day!)...I wouldn't worry about your FI-guys are clueless about such things and your hotness probably blew him away so he couldn't come up with anything better than "your're cute". ;)
The thing is about boys is that they think we look AMAZING when we are at home in our sweats with no make-up on! (which is a GREAT thing!!!!)
I agree with other posters in that he complimented you with no prompting that is SOMETHING!!!!!
I am sure you look fabulous and he will LOVE the way you look on your wedding day!
"You look cute" is about the reaction I'd expect from my boy :) I'm sure you looked beautiful!
Update
He LOVED how I looked on our wedding day. He kept looking at me and repeating how beautitul I looked. The funny thing is that I kept the make up the same way that I had previously shown him. Even after I pointed that out he said that this time it was different and that I looked amazing. Aww boys are so silly. I really believe that he was being truthfull and now that I look back at his first reaction I think I was being over dramatic.

I went today to do my hair and make-up trial and was happy as can be. I was so excited that I called my cousin's girlfriend up to show her. Her family and her loved it and reacted great about it. I'm bummed because the one person that I wanted to be amazed was my FI. I don't know if the rest of you are showing your FI but I wanted to make sure he liked it before the big day. I got all dressed up and even threw on some heels so that I would look super fabulous when my FI would come home. He came in and said, "Oh you look cute." Seriously this isn't the reaction you expect to hear from someone especially after paying so much for the trial and spending 3 hours at the salon. I told him he tells me I look cute when I'm wearing my pajamas. He didn't seem to care.
Lame. I'll get over it but right now I'm bummed and went right away to throw on some pajamas. I hope I get a better reaction on our wedding day.
Did you show your FI your trial make-up and hair? Am I being too dramatic?
