I have no idea, but my wedding is also in the Tri-Valley and I’d like to hang around and see if others have any recommendations 🙂

I think it means bridesmaids, but to me it just looks like “bowel movements”. *giggle* Sorry everyone. I’m apparently an 11-year-old boy.

Here are my local contacts:

Mimi & Taylor

Professional Makeup Artistry

Get your Do up!

Pricing for the first two is going to be way above $450, I think they each start around $1500 but that’s the price you pay for the best in the industry! Get your Do up is more reasonably priced but I haven’t worked with them in a while, pricing could have changed.

Others I would suggest based off good word-of-mouth:

Julie Morgan

Luxe Image Hair & Makeup

Beauty by Lia

I’ve never worked with any of these three but I’ve heard good things from other wedding professionals. Julie Morgan pricing is high but the other two should be considerably lower.

Tip: Book a trail/consultation before signing a contract with a beauty vendor.

@colee025:So, I was waiting to comment, but I am in talks with my hair salon about doing my wedding hair.  My normal hair stylist is pregnant and expecting around my wedding day, but I’m thinking of using another stylist and the salon charges $75 for hair.  I live in Fremont, and go to a place called Ascend Salon.  I’m just not sure I understand $400 for hair and makeup…let alone $1500?  I guess it just doesn’t mean that much to me.  So, what about just contacting some local salons, if you’re trying to save costs?

@colee025: So, I think the salon I’m looking at is able to travel to the hotel we’re getting ready at!  Don’t lose faith just yet…I think it’s still possible!

BTW in my further research for a backup plan for myself, I saw this.  Exquisite faces, located in Livermore – a mother/daughter team.  Bridal hair/makeup is at $300, which to me feels reasonable after looking at all the expensive ones.  Have a look at them – they have GREAT reviews on yelp!
