The only hair person I know the one doing my hair, but I just saw we have the same wedding date (yay wedding twins).  Have you tried Joyce Luk, or JAC Beauty?

What is your budget for hair and make-up?  My make-up/hair artist travels anywhere and she does a wonderful job.  I’m still waiting on my engagement pictures to see the full results of her work.  She also uses airbrushing (which I absolutely loved!  I didn’t feel like a cake if you know what I mean).

So, they told you that YOU can’t break the contract, but they can? BS. Is there anything else you can do?

That does seem odd.  Don’t they ahve several stylists?  Even if they have one other wedding booked, it seems like they would have other stylists that could handle yours.  Btw I just checked the company on the BBB.org, and they have a F rating, which is the lowest possible.  I would say forget the deposit and go with a different stylist for sure.  Thanks for the head up!

That is obnoxious.  They do seem to be taking advantage of the fact you have already paid the deposit and they are not trying to get you to go with them.

You should threaten to sue.  Your fsil put down a deposit for her hairdo, and then transferred the deposit to you on the premise that they had your date available.  They booked your date, therefore they are getting a "windfall" by keeping your deposit, because they get an extra $150.  Your fmil should tell them that because they booked the date she had them hold for you, they are now in breach and must refund the deposit.

I am so sorry to hear about your drama, I remember you posted about whether or not you should use your FSIL’s cancelled trial run.  That was definitely shady of them, but at least you found out now instead of them pulling a stunt on or near your wedding.

Check out Carl King at Ego Salon in Kaleidescope Center in Mission Viejo.  He does fabulous hair and is reasonably priced.

Don’t waste any more energy on that horrible company.  Losing the $150 sucks, but technically, it was a nonrefundable deposit so they really don’t have to refund it for any reason.  Focus on the fun parts and your fantastic wedding.

I’m really sorry! My answer to everything like this is to contact BBB – at least it gets marked on their record and others will know about it.

Hope you find a hair place!

Thank you for the tip. I just emailed them today before I read this post, but with your horrible experience as well as their poor rating on BBB.org I don’t think I will give them my business.

You should put up a review on yelp.com and Citysearch so that others can avoid them.
