I think the hair down like Kim had it would look nice. Do you have a photo of the dress though?
yeah, here's my dress....I'm very petite and have a really tiny face. I feel like a pin head with my hair up. :)
That's not me....I found the pic online.
Is there any cool detailing in the back of the dress that would be hidden if you had your hair down?
I think your hair down will be beautiful with that dress.. and I'm not sure why your mom made that comment.. I think wearing your hair down will keep you warmer in the winter :)
I'm wearing my hair down for my wedding in December.

I found this online somewhere for my daughter to see for hair inspiration. Would something like this work for you? She's getting married on the beach next May but also has long dark, heavy hair and isn't sure what to do with hers either.
You could always leave it down and go Veronica Lake style. It would be glam, but still down and more casual than an updo.
I think having it down would look great. I don't think that you have to have your hair done a certain way for a winter wedding but if you had a very formal wedding, down hair might not look right. I wore my hair down because I don't wear it up very often and wanted to look like me!
BTW, hi fellow Huntsville bee!
Or this, I think her hair is beautiful. Down with just the part around the face pulled back to keep it out of your eyes.

No detail at all...the back is very simple. It has a lace up but other then that nothing.
I was thinking that too about feeling 'warmer' :) I guess when I go back for my next dress fitting I'll wear it down and see what I think.
Thanks bees!! :)
Hi MissAsB!!! A Fellow Huntsville Bee!! :)
The wedding is formal, but also very 'laidback'. The attire will be formal but as for most everything else the wedding is very laidback.
I always wear my hair back, my hunny loves my hair down but it take so long to fix I always just end up pulling it back... I thought I'd wear it down to look more romantic... also, I hate the way I photograph with my hair up....I'm still so unsure.
The half up is pretty!
I think half up, half down is probably a good idea, just because you don't want to worry about stray hairs sticking to your face for the entire evening.
I've never heard of wearing your hair down having anything to do with the seasons. If you love it, go for it!
I think you could totally do down maybe with a pretty, sparkly headband or something, or half up for a winter wedding. I have never heard that hairstyle is controlled by the season! Besides, it's summer that you really want your hair up and off your neck to beat the heat, not winter.
Thanks guys! Mom is very critical...drives me nuts. When we ordered my dress in white she said "you can't wear white in the winter!" ....I was like, um ok whatever.
Did you mention what you're wearing on your head? A veil? Birdcage? Feathers/clip?/flower? I think that should also help you decide.
i think hair down is more winter than anything personally. i would say some of those half us styles would be good since u have the halter straps...you wouldn't really see them with your hair down. i probably would do an updo, but if you dont like that then do what you feel best in, and still feel like yourself in. but i would maybe try pulling up some in the front so you can see the halter straps, otherwise you will lose that detail if your hair is long and covers it.
I wasn't wearing anything in my hair...... but i may do a veil but ONLY for the ceremony, then its coming off. I get headaches REALLY easily and clips an ponytails make my head kill me.
Mrs. Cowboy Boots hair looks adorable! I may copy her!
I think wearing your hair down is perfectly fine! I'm getting married in December, and I also have long, dark hair. We're having a very formal wedding, and I'm wearing my hair down with curls in it. I think you should go with what you're comfortable with, and if you'd feel better with your hair down, then wear it down!
I think all down would look great or wear it "half up" but only have a tiny bit pulled up and mostly down
If you wear your hair up a lot I would defintely wear it down...maybe some beach waves?? If your hair is always down, i'd swtich it up and wear it up.
This is my inspiration picture...I was thinking I'd poof up the back and pin it with a few bobby pins for extra volume... then barely pin back the sides just a little to keep it out of my face, but still look loose.

Got my dress, my shoes, make up, everything is good to go....except my hair! I can't figure out what to do with it...I don't want to wear it completely off my face, but I don't want any pieces just hanging... I have really long (past my boobs) really dark, really thick hair. Very straight but it will hold some curl (with a lot of product). I'm considering wearing it down like Kim Kardashian did in Khloe's wedding... middle part, lots of volume and curls at the ends...but my mom says that's not appropriate for a winter wedding..WHY? Is she right? My dress is a little mermaid like..it has a very tiny halter strap that I don't care if it shows or not.
Any thoughts fellow bees?? Mom can be very opinionated and makes me second guess myself.
