I am so upset!! I know that I shouldn’t be so worried about hair, but it is the single most stressful thing about the wedding right now, which is in one week.
My friend usually does my hair but she is unable to do it the day of the wedding, so I’ve been going to this new girl for trials. I’ve been for THREE trials already, and I don’t seem to like anything that she does. I’ve spent so much money, and she convinced me to buy clip in hair extensions….I’ve spent a freaking fortune! Well, yesterday was my third trial and I thought maybe the reason I wasn’t liking anything was because I haven’t had a hair CUT in MONTHS. Split ends, way too long… I grew it with the intention of having it cut before the wedding. Well, I think she was exasperated with me because she ended up cutting my hair dry, and while it looked okay at the salon (when it was curled), today when I got out of the shower, I noticed it’s all uneven and different lengths and noticeably shorter on one side. I am freaking out!! My friend is going to try and fix it next week, but I have no idea what to do the day of the wedding. I have no hairstyle picked, and I am just so upset. My dress is so gorgeous, and I never thought I’d be dealing with this 🙁

Relax, take a deep breath, and start looking up hairstyles you like. Let’s help you pick something you like – if it’s simple enough, maybe you can practice doing it yourself in the next week – and if it’s not, maybe you can find someone new to do your hair.
Don’t worry so much about the uneven lengths – did you say your hair is curly? I have curly hair and that stuff won’t be as noticeable. Plus, if you plan on using the extensions, that should probably cover it. And, if you’re going to put any of it up, it will cover the uneveness, too.
And, you’re probably freaking out and think it’s worse than it actually is. Post a pic and I bet it’s not as bad as you think!

My hair’s actually super fine and poker straight 🙁 The only reason it looked okay at the trial was because she cut it dry and then started curling it right away (I didn’t notice). I’m hoping that my friend can fix the cut, but I just feel exhausted from this whole hair fiasco. I decided I don’t want to wear the extensions for the wedding either because they feel heavy and itchy, and just not me. I want to be natural and feel like myself, so that was a total waste of money.

@jules28: Ah, ic.. she curled it.
Well, I still think that (1) it’s probably not as bad as you think b/c usually you’re your own worst critic; (2) your friend will probably be able to fix it; and (3) it won’t be noticeable when you get your hair done for your wedding.
So sorry that you’re going through this one week before the wedding!

If it makes you feel any better I went to my lady to get my hair done… 2.5 hours later she couldn’t figure out how to make it do what I wanted so I came back the next day. Another 2.5 hours and it was alright at the salon but throughout the day the more I looked at it I hated it. I mean hated it!
So I ended up emailing her and told her what was up… I told her I was going to go to the beauty school and have someone there work on it and I ended up loving it! I am going back next week cause it is a 2 day process – I have to let my hair sit overnight but what from what I saw I loved it!
Don’t be afraid to go for something YOU want. Or to someone you feel comfortable with.

I’m sure everything will be fine after your friend fixes your hair. If you don’t feel comfortable going to this other girl for your wedding-day hair, then don’t. It’s not worth the stress. I actually watched tutorials on Youtube for hairstyles I like for my wedding and practiced them a ton of times, but maybe when it’s in your hands it will turn out nice 🙂
