I’ve been dying my hair for years now.. for a long while, I was always changing shades of brown and reddish browns, but for the past 3 or so years, I’ve just stuck with black with blue/purple tints. My natural hair color is a very deep brown, so it’s not all that different. Lately though, while looking for hair styles for the wedding, and talking to some friends, its come up that if I dont lighten my hair, or at least put in highlights, its just going to look like a blur, or a glare.
Anyone out there with super dark hair have this problem? I feel like if you have a good photographer this shouldn’t be a problem .. but I really have no clue. I plan on wearing my hair completely up, if that helps. I’d love to see some examples of anyone with dark hair in their pro pics, or hear any advice you have to offer!

I don’t think that’s true/accurate. So long as there is a texture to your hair it’ll shine and look gorgeous. ANY PRO can capture that. My hair is pitch black and I doubt there will be any problems.

I have had the same concern so I am curious to see the responses. I too have naturally super dark brown hair, but have recently started to dye it black because I feel it compliments my features more.

I don’t have black hair, but dye mine a dark reddish-brown. I had the same worry about being too dark. I ended up doing some highlights scattered through. Just subtle ones. Nothing crazy. But I felt like it gave my hair more depth in my pics. I’m sure I’m the only one that really notices though! I’ve seen tons of pics of brides with black hair and I thought they looked lovely! So, I think you would be fine without highlights.
