My hair is in-between thin and thick (closer to the thin side, but not THIN… know what I mean?) and I’m planning to wear it partially down or all down. I’m planning to wear a veil and hair flower for the ceremony, then just the hair flower for the reception. I want the flower to be 2.5-3 inches in diameter.
My question is: Which do you think will stay in better- an alligator clip or bobby? I found a bobby one I really like, but I’m worried it won’t be as secure.

I am AA and I have really thick hair that I am in the process of locking. I will actually be wiring my flowers to a comb to secure in my hair. The comb looks like the one below.

i’ve always seen hair flowers on combs. they hold very well, especially if you’re planning to have your hair half up. i would worry an alligator clip would end up showing or slipping….i’ve never had great experiences with them.

I’ve done many updo’s and styles for brides and bridesmaids (also for countless highschool proms). I am not a professional hair stylist but it’s become a hobby of mine and a way to make a little extra money.
Anyway, I suggest bobby pins if your hair is going to be down. The alligator clip will slip down pretty easily. Just make sure you or whoever secures it with a few other pins in a criscross pattern.

Mine was a comb (like JamaicaBride posted above), and then my hairdresser weaved in a couple of bobby pins across the comb-grain to really secure it. That puppy didn’t move a millimeter all night!
