Confession: I don't really want to wear a veil. I'm much more of a simple girl, and I love decadent hair flowers/feathers a la Twigs and Honey:

Anyway, I still haven't found "the one" and so I'm looking for your inspiration pictures, or post what you wore. Thanks!

What does your dress look like? We're good at suggesting according to the style of the dress :)

Yay! I am doing the flower thing too. The first movie we watched together was The Proposal (at the drive-in!) and he mentioned that he really liked the flower in her hair. I didn't forget that.

I'm going with something pretty simple.

I searched 'fascinator' on Etsy and found a few good pics! You might try that, tons of styles.. it will get the ball rolling for sure :)

@princssdva - hmm, well I just bought my dress. But I'm scared that R will come across this post! (Okay, I know he wouldn't click on a hair flower post, but it still worries me that it will come up if he looks over my shoulder!) It's weird... I'm so excited about it that I like having it be "my secret."

So for now I'll describe it - it's a goddessy strapless tulle dress with a sweetheart neckline - it's ivory.

@gocubbies - we have the same taste, I think! :) If you remember any you loved, it'd be awesome if you could post the pictures.

I like this one but I feel the silver would look weird, and something about just... isn't quite right for our wedding/my dress - I need a warmer, more rustic feel:

@amcati - I know isn't it downright ridiculous how much they cost? Of course, none of the affordable ones are really to my taste.

@prncssdva - that's what I thought, I love that vibe from it. I can't really tell how big it is, but I kind of liked the thought of two flowers. I'm worried one big one will overwhelm me (I'm really petite) but at the same time, one small one won't be enough.

I'm thinking that it might not be all that small. Can you ask for its dimensions?

Yeah, I don't even know if it's still for sale. I ended up Googling inspiration pictures, and still have yet to find the perfect one.

Some days I think I'm too picky! But I have time... it's just frustrating because I've never found one that was just perfect.

I luckily work at a place where we sell silk stems. So I'm pretty sure I'm going to make my own... After an hour of searching Etsy, I didn't find "the perfect" one :(

@lilyfaith... I do LOVE the second pic you posted. I like it more than any of the ones I found! Where's it from?

I am also having a hard time finding the right size, these things are massive!!! Haha, I'm looking for a bit of subtleness.

If I find something, I will let you know.

@gocubbies - it's from the Twigs & Honey "vegan" or "natural" line - didn't see it on the Etsy shop, but I'm sure you could custom order it - just be prepared to pay dearly. I love Myra's work, but I really just can't justify it on a hair flower that's not "oh my gosh, absolutely perfect" - and even then, I don't think I'd take it out of the wedding budget, I think it'd end up coming out of birthday gift money or something.

My vision is for something really warm and soft, but I just can't seem to find it many places!

I actually did make mine! It was sooo simple. I followed a couple tutorials from the blog and improvised as I went.

Gorgeous pieces, but totally not prepared to pay dearly, unfortuately. I can totally relate to you.

I'll let you know what I end up doing, I have a feeling we're looking for the same thing!

    Update:

I gave in and posted my dress picture for anyone who wants to see it:

    http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/so-excited-11

Maybe that helps convey the vibe I'm looking for more? I don't think I described it well, and I know a picture helps a lot!

@meliss - I went on a Google images search frenzy, and that one came up. It didn't say where to buy it, but maybe someone else knows, or you could put out an Etsy Alchemy?

    I got these: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=41851488

I wanted something very soft and romantic, but simple and pretty...I think I definitely got it in these.  And honestly, they are even prettier in real life!  I love them :)

I wore this $6 flower from Claire's for my engagement photos. I like it more than the $45 I got on Etsy for the wedding :(

I am using Myra at twigs and honey.  She can custom make a piece if you see something you like but want to tweak it a bit or something.  I am so excited to work with her.  I just started emailing back and forth with her to get my order started and she is great.

@lilyfaith--Thanks and no it was not a real flower but it totally looked like it was!! It was absolutely perfect!! I got it from Shelly Sheek Boutique for $18. It was not too big or too small and was just really simple and elegant which is what I was looking for. She's got lots of other types of hair fascintors and I know with at least the one I got, the quality was very good.
