Your hair is sooo pretty! I think it looks great down... but you dont want to be gross for the wedding either. Is the half up option out of the question?
Oh I really like your hair in the last photo! Can you do that but with some curls or maybe something to put in your hair?
I know what you mean about wanting your hair off your neck in the heat though. Maybe instead of pulling your bangs back you could leave some hair to frame your face.
I think half up with lots of curls would make you look lovely! Although, you have beautiful hair and skin so that's not an issue :)
I went for a face framing up do. I think you need a bit of hair down in front and not all pulled back. Also the way they have it pulled back is a bit squarish, I like the back though.
I know what you mean about the heat, so if you wanted to do the updo, maybe just pull some pieces that frame your face so it won't be so harsh looking? Or have it done a little looser.
Honestly though, I think down or half down would look the best. Your hair in the last picture looks great. Maybe just add curls to that.
To be honest, most people are going to look a bit older when they have a formal updo. It's not necessarily a bad thing! You're just going to look more formal!
What if you kept it up but lower, like pulled back to the nape of your neck and a little less "done"? Does that make sense? I think having it so pulled back for your updo, when you wear it down everyday is a stark contrast.
Maybe something like this?

I think you need to do more around your face!
Either have more height in the front - like your down do! Or have a few pieces hanging down or a side bang. That would probably make you look younger!
I think you look beautiful with hair up and down, but I will tell you--I had my wedding here in Nashville over Memorial Day weekend, and it wasn't even super hot yet, and I was SO GRATEFUL for my updo. Everyone was disgusting by the end of the night because of the heat and humidity. I don't really think you're going to be happy with your hair down in August. Here's a decent shot of my updo:

It was very informal, lots of waves and curls and then gathered at the nape of the neck. Lots of body on top, though that was almost gone by the end of the night. I added the flower for whimsy and fun. Here's a full length shot--I don't think I look any older than 23...which is good...because I'm 23.

Good luck, you're going to be beautiful!
I am having the same problem. How about something like this, my hairdresser tried it last night and I loved it (hope to post pictures soon)
I love your hair down... maybe something half up half down? I think that that would be nice!
I think you are on the right track with putting it up for hot weather. My suggestion to make it look a bit younger is to use a side part and to make it look less perfect, i.e. a little messy.
Maybe a low, loose bun with a side part? Something like this. You can even do a
low ponytail too.
@PinkPinstripes: love that look. LC can do no wrong in my book. Now Heidi, she's another story.
@mrsmdphd: Your hair looks great - and you definitely look 23!
@roxy821: Love that picture! The photographer is actually here in Nashville too. PM me with a picture of your trial, I think that look could potentially be a winner!
It's hard to find inspiration for up-dos or down-dos without bangs. I love side swept bangs, but my face gets too oily for them.
I think something a little looser/softer would look more youthful on you, even though you look very pretty!
@sgarrison2- heidi is perfect example of a 23 year old that looks old!!
I've always loved LC's hair styles tho!
My MOH took pictures at the trial last night so I asked her to email them to me when she gets out of work so I will send them to you once I have them. I'm awful with taking pictures myself LOL.
I love the lauren conrad look posted above. This is how I want mine done (I'm 24)
I think the back is really pretty, but the front needs to be a little different. I like the claire danes and LC fronts.
Thanks for all the suggestions ladies! I'm thinking I might try something more loose, maybe even half up. And I'll put it into a bun for the reception if I get hot. I'll have to ask my stylist what she thinks about switching it myself.
I recently came across Reese Witherspoon's up-do from the 2006 Oscars and think it is so so pretty!

*Update* For anyone interested in how I did my hair. Here's a picture that a family member took while we were getting ready and it shows my hair well.

Hey ladies! I consider myself a young-ish bride, since I'm 23. Our wedding is in August and I'm trying to figure out how to wear my hair. I like the look of half-up, but August in TN is brutal! My first trial was an updo, and I felt like I looked 33 instead of 23. I've attached a couple pictures from my hair trial, and a picture from when I was "made up" for my fiance's work Christmas party. The makeup is another story- there was a problem with her lights, since it looked normal in the studio. I normally wear my hair straight every day and partially up with a bobby pin. I want to look like myself, but stay cool too. Any pictures would be great! The stylist is being great and giving me another trial free of charge!
